Hi friends, one more step ahead received my IRONMAN suspension kit with 2" lift so with this i have sourced almost 40% of necessary things to start my restoration work :bounce::bounce2: . next on my to source list is tyre and have some doubts on the same need all of your inputs on this, size i'm interested is 35X12.5-15 ok doubt no (1) will this size tyre mount on my stock rims?

(2) heard many of you talk about upgrade gear size to 4.88:1 in order to run bigger tyres so tell me why do we need to upgrade gear? currently i'm running H55 gear box so is it needed also?

(3) if yes where can i source 4.88:1 gears?

(4) will this tyre setup accommodate with just 2" lift are should i go for a mild body lift?

pardon me for my poor knowledge i'm still a beginner:bang::bang:

1. You will need to get wider rims to mount those tyres.

4. I may be wrong but pretty sure you will get some tyre rubbing and to address this would need to get one or more of the following: wheel spacers. Trim the fenders. Or body lift. Or stick to 33'x12.5x15.

ToyoDiY.com lists #11115‑68020 as the Cylinder Head Gasket for the 80-87 HJ60.

Good luck!

Dodobo- thanks for the info bro, BTW friends have managed to install IRONMAN full suspension kit with a 2.5 inch lift and now that she sits 3.5 to 4 inch higher than before as my previous suspension plate was almost flat:bounce::bounce2::bounce:. very much happy with the kit as whole.

next on the list to do is knuckle rebuild, install the new tie rod end that was bought previously, rear axial service and rebuild, change rear brake pads, service alternator as both the alternators not working. planning to complete all these things in 2 weeks time once done test her on and off the road to see the condition of clutch, fuel pump, nozzle, gear box, transfer case whether needs service are not then proceed with body work.:steer::steer:

friends need suggestion- whether to service my PTO winch get synthetic are steel rope and use it ( as of now not in working condition are will say i don't have the guts to try is it in working condition are not before minimum service). if not get a iron man 12000 pound winch and just install it.

heart says PTO, mind says electric winch so if you are in my shoes which one will you go for?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

need help and advice

please direct me from where i can get spider gear for my rear differential please someone help me. saw a full rebuilt third from Marlin Crawlers was pretty interested but they are asking for the old one to be shipped first which will end up expensive as i'm from India and it will end up way more expensive. so is there any other way i could get a fully rebuilt open differential from them without returning my old differential? :bang::bang::bang:

you could just install a spartan/aussie/lockright locker ($300US + shipping). they take the place of the spider gears and are really simple to install.
