@Hj60 - Is it possible to find the model exactly with the help of VIN no from chassis? i tried different website but not able to find if can find it would be of more help in restoration, one more question what headlight is this looks like a perfect fit and not a after market setup :bang: but Fj60 never come out with such head light as far as what i know and have seen :bang::bang:

Welcome Raja. I've spent a fair bit of time in Tamil Nadu, around Chennai and Puducherry.

That's a diesel, yes? I don't see a carb, and I think I see injector lines. Very interesting 60, must be a good story for how it came to India and how it has been used.

Are you going to undertake much of the reapirs yourself, or will you hire a mechanic? The advice you have seen is good; start with cleaning everything and taking a good assessment of the condition of the car, then prioritize the repairs to get it running and driving. Cosmetic issues can wait.

Good luck!

TS888 @ tks for your comments, the way you spell my name shows you have been to tamilnadu ha ha, but i'm just Raj also from tamilnadu, Trichirapalli. as you mentioned i belive the same. should be of very good story of how it came to India and PO should be a great explorer i think ( big storage compartment, 2 alternator, 3 battery setup, long range fuel tanks, PTO winch setup, never seen before head light and grill ) but i'm not aware of the history of this vehicle. yes it is a diesel and i'm not into restoring it myself but with a group of friends who are experts restoring army disposal vehicles. As of now we have planned to addres electrical issues to get the vehicle into starting and running condition without failure as of now we push the vehicle to start unlike many LC push button start ha ha:bang:.

@ drillduty thanks to add a little bit of info about myself for me automobile is the only passion I'm crazy for it which consumes most of my income and time which earned a lot of hatred from my family ha ha it all started when I was 15 and today I'm 32 and the vehicles in my possession other than LC are namely a Royal Enfield lightning 550cc 32bhp single cylinder 4 stroke OHC air cooled engine, Mahindra Scorpio 2.6liter 95bhp turbo DI SUV both I bought as used vehicle and restored it to pristine condition here are the pict for you all see enjoy and comment.

Welcome Raj! Sounds like you are making the wise decision to start with mechanical issues, and also sounds like you have good help with you. Good luck, this will be a memorable and educational journey!

Hi Ray, nice car/motorcycle to get parts for the LC ;)

These websites can do more with the chassis/vin number and what does the paperwork state? You can also email a toyota dealer to find more info.
If it was an overland thing england (and the history it has with India) comes first but with the former wars that person shure had some guts driving it or he went trough the russian side.

Hey this second page has no picture of the LC
And I believed you when you said FJ (gasoline) lol it sure looks familiar like the diesel I have :hhmm: RHdrive.
The black stuff on the firewall is not original, what colour is under it?
The diesel filter is most important and the small inline filter before the pump, is the prime pump ok or leaking?
Now the smoke becomes even better, it is just diesel smoke :grinpimp:

Hi, that looks similar to an HJ61. The Sahara roof. no fender flares but maybe they were removed? Or not an option in country of origin (mine is RHD as well, came from Japan). Looks like the 24V set up as well. So the lower alternator is 24V output for all original electrical equipment. The upper alt hanging off the ac compressor powers the 3rd 12V battery for any other electrical accessories. If you replace the font 2 batterys be sure to do them both at the same time. Same with charging. Get them both up to full charge before using. You may just need brushes in the alternator. Easy fix. What is the mileage at? I like how that second alt is set up. they moved the coolant overflow resevoir back to do it. You should think about replacing all the battery cables and ground cables too.

Manual too so likely a H55F tranny, is it a 5 speed? Is there a CT26 Turbo hiding under that third battery?

Looks like PO did quite a few mods, lots of work with plywood in the back, and tailgate storage. I like the yellow/green lizard paint scheme...lol!

Wij hebben de door u verstrekte gegevens ingevoerd in ons systeem maar krijgen op basis van het chassisnummer en motornummer geen informatie door. Het spijt mij u niet anders te kunnen berichten.

Thanks for your question, we have entered the numbers in our system but no information was revealed, we are sorry.

HJ60- thanks a ton bro, you can only refer paper work for the chassis no and engine no rest they jst anyhow fill up that's India:clap::bang: bangs and claps as it has many advantage and disadvantages. i have emailed Toyota motors general inquiry lets see what they got to say about:crybaby: Today is a festive period in India so no much work, have given the alternator for inspection and service, waiting for a senior mechanic to check on the engine as the smoke is too bad that you cant see the road and traffic behind :bounce::bounce2: i'm still happy with it. pickup is very good was able to do 60 to 70 kmph with ease but never try further as front suspension needs immediate attention and has extreme wobbling of the front wheel, will email Toyota motors Pune now.
