Did you pass smog? You gotta' get some doors on it. Safety first, then baseline mechanics, then cosmetics, then mods.
My honest advice... cut your losses and run.
I remember being young and willing to sweat it out, so good on you. However, 25 years down the road into this hobby... my best advice is to dump it, save up for one you can ENJOY right away and tweek/fix/mod as needed. I am not trying to discourage you from continuing but there is still a big gap to jump if you want to enjoy this cruiser for years to come. Just my .02... CARRY ON!
