Update....

The manifold is off. Forgot two bolts originally couldn't see it in the gunk. Also to add to my surprise a cracked manifold intake. Lovely

No I am on the Hunt for a replacement that isn't 350$.

In the meantime, I tore down the exhaust
Manifold cleaned it up with parts washer. The surface is in bad shape will definetly get it machined. I removed the side jay pipes and prepared them to replace the Teflon rings and springs. My flapper and cool spring are actually on good shape surprised with it working the manifold still fracked. I installed the EGr plate from JimC. Ordered all new gaskets and hardware for complete manifold reassembly, carburetor hear shield new OEM thank you @beno @FJ40Jim @CaptClose for all the help parts and feedback. Here is were i am at till parts come in.

Brand new BVSV(1) came in

Let's just say this was one of those Ima start a desmog and quickly spiraled into what feels like half and engine rebuild.... This baby Bette run like a champ when it's back together.

I have the lift, knuckles, brakes on the back burner till it's driving again.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Update:

Issues sourcing new intake manifold tried everything to not pay 300$ but ends up forking up 300$ for Beed blasted intake from cruiser parts. I also went ahead and got the heat protection plate ordered. Accidentally got one on craigslist but it's for a fj40 2F F me right! Saw it in the dark and didn't realize.

While I wait for it to get here 48 hours I've been painting the exhaust manifold with 2000 degree high heat black paint. I Also installed the new springs and Teflon rings/gasket for the curved J pipes on the side for a good seal thanks @beno .

Old
New

I have to new hardware for beno to replace all the manifold studs, bolts, gaskets, carb studs, etc.

Slowly but surely

There were other options.

Three private messages in three hours. C'mon guys. Per sig line, I use a telephone to conduct business.

60 matched manifold set, separated, cleaned, exhaust repainted, new gaskets installed between manifolds. No cracks in intake. Ready to install. $350 plus the ride.
