Hahaha... The antenna issue was brought up when I first posted the video.... I had ordered a short black antenna before shipping the truck to Slee... just forgot to send it... The old antenna would not tighten and they obviously forgot to put it up straight when they shot the video... If you go back a few post you'll see it has been replaced and for the trip home we did a little getto fab and ran a screw through the side of the base to hold it in place....

When I was out west with the truck in March I blew my Alpine 10" sub that's built into rear side panel... So one morning in AZ I pulled into a audio shop and pickup a 12 JL Audio in a enclosure.. and it fit right next the the fridge.. but it covered my 12volt for the frigde so I need to move the plug. I had order a Blue Sea 12 and dual USB for the trailer and never used so wired it up this afternoon..

That's a nice panel assembly. Do you have Blue Sea part number for that sucker you could share?

Thanks for the link

First time I had seen that video of the 4.7 swap. Very cool to see your 80 series on film like that!

So I've been kicking around tailgate storage solutions for a while...Looked into WagonGear but it appears Kevin has not gone back to production since he moved and I'm not really sure why.
I've seen the plastic boat hatch covers that are priced right and actually picked up a 31' inch version for $115 and is structurally very durable... but more recently found a few marine plastic fabrication companies that make all sorts of marine products including hatches using Starboard and SeaBoard both high end Marine grade plastic. So I took a drive to Annapolis MD and met with one of the companies and they are going to make one for me....Might do two variations ...dual hatch and single....CNC cut for a perfect fit and the ability to duplicate if they want... In a few weeks i should have a new hatch for my tailgate.

Luke, you mind sharing the info on the $115 hatch?

Here's the link..the one I bought is 13 x 30 Taupe ..it's the fourth one on the top row and it's now $76.99...it could be open box so read details.. You could also buy 2 shorter ones for dual hatches.. Someone in the 80 section did and also the 60 section... These Jim Black hatches are stout you can stand on one without and issues and made in the USA

I was lucky enough to get to drool all over your cruiser while at Slee. The pictures don't do it justice. You have the nicest 80 I have had the pleasure to look at. Well done!

Luke,

Next time you have a chance can you take a pic of the rear of the system that sits against the back seats?

I want to have the ability to make a second row area for sleeping and want to see if there is a solid area to attach too.

Thanks and appreciated if possible.

I was afraid of that.... To build or buy????

Thanks Luke-

That's a question only you can answer...I did a lot of research and even purchased skate board bearings and plans from AU then spent weeks planning ...in the end purchasing a proven product was worth every penny...

Not my truck but it is the ARB system and you can see they have a solid back.
