I have a feeling you'll change your mind about the V8.

@beno - huge catalyst for my parts obsession (have you read any of his build threads?). But, I'm a total freak when it comes to (insert here), especially so regarding the NLA status of so many parts.

@cruisermatt - my shop & my wife are both wanting me to keep the 2F. But - two things: Deposit already put down and with the 1200lbs of add-ons to the rig, will she tackle anything but flat roads =)

Here's a few pics of the desmog & re-assembly that's going on at present (an incredible product of the MUD community pooling knowledge and resources. . .b/c as everyone knows, I'm way out of my league/comfort zone).

But a Group 27 gel battery in her today:

And this beast is going up tomorrow!

Few things:

1. You need a new fuel filter. That one is gross.

2. New fuel soft lines are available. ;) The dirty ones are just, well, dirty.

@beno

1. New fuel filter in the box, just waiting to be installed =)

2. Can you overnight these to me?

Woot woot.

And wait until you see the two axle projects. . .holy freaking shat!

80 rear, modified for 60 springs, new everything, wildwood brake calipers, 80 rear sway.

60 front, brake & IFS hub mod, wildwood calipers if we can make them work, if not, tundra calipers/rotors, new everything.

Word. To. Your. Mother.

WOW.

I'll be in Covington 16-17 October. I wanna see this 60. You'll have it finished by then, right?

s*** - I should be living in Covington by the time you get there =) And yes - she'll be running.

S...that engine is looking so clean...I don't think I could bring myself to pull it out even for a 6.2L....luckily my engine wasn't so purdy (plus I didn't put a dime into the old 2F.

was just up at Tor's last week (i drive within 2 miles of his new shop every working day....this will end up costing me.

The next big project I'll do will be the 80 rear and custom front as well. need better brakes with the vortec...can be downright scary "trying" to stop short.

Good to see you're making some progress...hoping I can get back out of neutral with my rig in the next week or two.

No pictures?! And did you determine your wheel situation yet?

I wanna see this thing too. Looks real good.

Shane did you delete the rear heater? Just looking at the heater hose routing on the PS of the block.

Also, that battery. Is it a Marine type? I see the extra little terminals. (I think that means it is Marine.) I'm tired of my retarded undersized battery. I should have just gotten a group 27 like it calls for

Hopefully they don't fit and I can scoop them up for pennies on the dollar.

Rear heater deleted... forvBMW 3 Series Seats?

Thinking of deleting my rear heater when I eventually do a swap. How hard was it? Have those who have done noticed any difference in heat output?

**** - if I had to do this by myself...LOST! One day from firing her up...woo hoo!

Wow!
Shane I know you have plans to change color on that rig and I respect that.
But just the way that truck sits now with black wheels and bumpers etc it looks amazing.
Nice looking rig!

Man - I know what you mean. . .when I first saw the engine all sparkly and whatnot, I was like - damn, that shat looks amazing! Trust me, I've tossed around doing a build with Gorilla Race Engineering (think fully built, turbo) but that would be as costly as dropping a 6.2 in her.

Adam (@torfab) is in the planning stages for my axle builds. Gave them a blank canvas to do something unique, challenging and fun. Should be an incredible end result when all is said & done.

Maybe he can do our axles at the same time - you know, like a group buy or something, hehe. And yes, you bastard, I'm jealous of your V8 power'!

And thank, K - went into hiatus mode for a bit. . .for an extended bit but slowly getting back into the swing of things. But - and there's always a but - we are about to start our move into the new house. So, might be another hiatus in the very near future (but after the axle builds, d'oh).

Good to hear from ya, man - hope you & the family are doing well...

No pictures of the axles - maybe these wheels, not sure how they'll look on the OSFJ60:
