Be there for the inspection, we breezed past ours after a $100 hand shake with one inspector and 3 large teeth showing dogs on the back porch where the Electric panel is and that inspector just checkered off the electric as good :)

One horse is two too many.

Amen Brother! My wife had 23 horses and in the horse business when we met in 07, it all crashed in 08, could not give a horse away and on top of that we had a major drought here and we were buying 1,100 lb square bails out of South Dakoda half the winter. We are down to 8. Sad part is, I like them. They are like big dogs to me, we have one that will follow me any where I go, has been up on the deck. Another we have walked right through the door and into the kitchen at the old place, stood there looking at us.

Seller's accepted our bid, woo hoo! Inspection & appraisal scheduled. If all goes well, closing date end of September. 4.78 acres on the river and outside city limits = weapons training every weekend. Here's a few shots of the highly anticipated, so stoked about, and will probably be the death of me. . . .drum roll. . .Shane's GARAGE!

Shane, congrats! that shop/garage is really going to increase the $ that go into your LC....if that was even possible. We're mid-move ourselves right now....traded a 6,000 sq ft lot in McMansionville for 5 acres as well...only a 3 car garage for now...separate 4 car garage/shop to be built in the next couple of years. Can't wait to see more pix of the place....and of your rig coming apart! Hee-hee.

oh yeah, the process of moving.....SUCKS donkey balls!

All I have to say is YOU SUCK!!!!! It would be nice to have those types of services around here...

Shane, we need to catch up...

Jason

We do, in SLC. Chrome and just about every type of plating.

Cheers

Now you're SURE you need to go to 17" wheels? What exactly did you decide on doing?

I just bought those tires last week.

Now you're SURE you need to go to 17" wheels? What exactly did you decide on doing?

Tundra brakes up front is the reason - I 'think' they require a 17" wheel.

Test fit first - you may be surprised.

6 lug Tundras had 16" wheels with actually DEEPER back spacing than your 80 series wheels, 5.5" verses the 80 series 4.5". And you have spacers, right? Those should fit no problem.

It isn't until the 5 lug Tundras (when they got big) where they require a 17" or 18" wheel.

Thanks @cruisermatt - yes, I'm running spacers but hoping to do away with them. Front changeover with brakes/etc. should equal 1.5 inches per side; rear 80 axle 1.5" per side. I"ll do some more research to see if the 80 wheels will clear the tundra brakes without spacers.

Thanks again-

Shane

I don't remember - are you actually driving the truck now or is it still at that shop? Just do a test fit.

I didn't realize it added front width. Your current 80 series wheels with spacers puts your wheels at stock 60 width, keeping the 80 wheels AND spacers in addition to the wider axle components will keep your front-to-rear width the same. All the Toyota 17" wheels have the same backspace as your current wheels, meaning you will need front spacers so your rear isn't wider than the front.

In the rears you will obviously be able to bolt those wheels up with no spacers. However, you might end up not liking how far out they stick. I should take a picture of my rear wheel well to show you, I'm running Tacoma 16" wheels with 5.5" of backspace (one inch more than you will have, meaning one inch deeper into the wheelwell) and I'm not happy with where the rears sit. They are just even with the fender lip. And your will stick out and inch past that. Let me know if you want a picture.

See Bean's build - looks like 17's are required. Maybe the non-US spec 80 wheel will allow fitment?

Bean's build page referencing the 17" wheels with Tundra brakes:

Hence one of my major frustrations - still at the shop, still 10+ projects working at the same time. Maybe by the time we get moved into our new house - and I finally have a garage - a fit is possible. I'll call Tor tomorrow to verify.

I added a bunch of info to my post -

Not driving it is perfect, because if they don't fit then you aren't screwed! :)

At this point I almost always try things for myself despite what others say.

I'm learning that and many other aspects of going at it alone - in the end, she'll be my idea-to-reality =)

Teaser pick of a custom, beautifully crafted, fcuking awesome piece of workmanship:

Door panels, qtr panels, & dash are proving to be a bit more of a challenge!
