Hi all,
I am new to this forum but have loved what I have read thus far. Just a quick intro, I am based in Melbourne, Australia and have just purchased a 2019 Landcruiser Sahara (200 series.
It’s my first cruiser so am super excited.
Now my question if I may? I want to purchase an OBD2 scanner but not sure if I need one with BMS. I have read in some places that if you change your crank battery, you need to register/program the new battery with the ECU so the ECU knows it’s a different battery. Others say you don’t have to register it as the ECU knows it’s new and adjusts accordingly.
Is it worth getting a scan tool that can register new batteries OR is it overkill on my behalf?
While I am it, are there any recommendations for OBD2 scanners for a newbie like me?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
