I haven’t driven my 08 LC this week. Start was slow/rough this morning, but started.

Drove it to a buddies house and now won’t start.

It was originally crank to almost start and then die.

I tried a jump box, jumpers, swapped batteries, replace efi 25 fuse, swapped starter relay (I fubarred mine in the process).

I have a gx460 and possibly an lx570 to possibly pull from.

I think I hear the fuel pump and smell noxious fumes.

Now it just cranks.

I’m trying to look through threads, but any guidance is appreciated.

I assumed it wouldnt crank
What else can you tell me?
i haven't had to reset before but i believe it involves closing all the car doors and the hood, then cycle through lock/unlock on all doors to reset. pretty sure it's mentioned in your manual as well.

Try this thread. Fuel pump ecu.

I had a similar isssue that grew worse over time. Much of the search I came across said Fuel ECU, but if you hear the fuel pump working, that may not be it

here is my thread on the issue that ended up being a relay in the main fuse box. Many are the same relay, so I would pick two relays and swap them with one not having anything to do with start

Battery tested bad
New battery + new starter relay + immobilizer process = short crank, almost fired up, no more long crank sounding like no spark

Pulled #1 to test spark, it didn’t seem as strong or as consistent as I was expecting.

Crank/cam sensor drive spark, maybe it’s failing?

I’m sure you have checked. but just in case, is there fuel?

That was thought #1, I was parked on an incline and rolled in back to level, gauge says 1/4 tank and I think I smell fuel. I am loading up 5 gallons now to ensure.

I’m embarrassed. 5 gallons and started right up.
I’ve been there with a couple crank no starts where the gauge showed some fuel but there wasn’t enough to get her started.

With my sub tank about half the fuel goes into the sub, so it takes twice as much to get a start, had to put in 7 gallons one time.

Don’t be. I had the same thing happen in my 3rd gen 4Runner. I had a small U-Haul trailer attached and it ran out of gas reading about 1/8th of a tank, whereas I normally could run it well below empty.

Sounds like your fuel sending unit might be going bad if it was empty but showing fuel
