You have a code, which you should read to let you know what the issue is.
 
I wouldn't trust that anymore than a used condom. Take a minute and do it yourself. It's not hard.
I did run the diagnostic after replacing the airbag ecu module and the airbag light still turned off after resetting it. I used the wire method to get the code. It told me the clock spring was bad. When I did a continuity test with my multimeter is said it was fine. I then did a continuity test on the airbag and it failed. I ordered another one off of eBay. Hopefully this puts the problem to bed.
 
I haven't been following the OBD1 scene so this is all new to me.

Looks like a cool bit of kit, but the OBD1READ can't read or reset CEL, ABS, or SRS and I don't think Toyocom is available. I am not sure why newer versions of essentially the same thing dropped features.

The ability to easily read or reset ABS/SRS codes would be nice.

It would be even awesomer to send custom codes to the ABS system...no more custom cables to bleed the ABS...
I wish it worked this way but the DLC1 connector will not allow the ABS pump to activate. Toyota made a SST that plugs into the 2 connectors on the ABS pump to activate it. I've been searching for one for a long time. The only thing I have found is the sub harness for it which is one of the two parts I need. I wish Toyota would have provided a wiring diagram for the sst diagnostic tool. I have 3 TCCS checkers I've bought over the years for the 3fe and potentially the early 1fz to diagnose ecu issues but not a single one of them had the correct adapter for the 3fe. If I had a wiring diagram I would make my own because I have just about every other adapter for toyotas early OBD1 fuel injected vehicles.

I was going to post up that just buying a new SRS ECU won't fix your issue if it isn't the airbag ecu it could be a wiring fault or airbag fault. Just because you get it to reset and then drive it and it comes on again could have been the clock spring. First thing you have to do is pinout the DLC1 connector and read the codes it's showing. Reseting the SRS ECU the wire way is a pain. The 80 series SRS ECU's out there are getting old. When the vehicle is left without power for a long period of time it's guaranteed to throw a code when powered back up. I'm send a few out to be rebuilt when even resetting them doesn't fix them. I'm sure there is a battery that holds memory and probably some capacitors that leak over time.
