However, my actuator still did not function with 9v applied so I need a new actuator or I could try to remove and rebuild mine. Agree?
recently went through this, jumping the switch did illuminate the cdl light on dash.
9v to the CDL under the truck did nothing. I pulled the cdl actuator out and still nothing with 9v applied to it. tore it down hoping to be able to just clean out some corrosion but no dice. The plastic tip of the armature that locates the armature in the metal cap was cracked off.

Your options are to hopefully be able to clean out your actuator and get it working on the bench again.(hopefully)..to find a used actuator as they are NLA for the 80-series. OR you can use one from a 100-series with an adapter wire harness. The 100-series tcase is nearly identical except for a few parts. Cruiser outfitters has both items for sale.
