The tank side is already has a check valve unless you are like me and removed it as it the problem with the canister. Also, the canister is already vented out the bottom coming from the VSV side.

You're right there is a vent out of the bottom, the boost pressure would never get past the canister.

I did not add a tank at this point, I did use the largest heat sink I could find. Its a Derale 40 row stacked plate cooler. My plan was to add a tank in the future if I have heat soak issues.

How much room is above the valve cover?

Would this fit on top?

There isn't very much room, a 3.5 in core intercooler would probably work, the other issue is the throttle cable and trans kick down cable. The supercharged trucks have the throttle body before the supercharger so there is a little more room. I'm going to have some time this afternoon to do some measuring and try and figure out what can fit, it may have to end up being a modified or custom intercooler.

I’m well down this path, it needs to be custom for exactly the reason you stated.

@NLXTACY I'm looking forward to what you design! Will it be available separate from the turbo kit? After spending some time today measuring, a 3.5" core will just barely fit between the exhaust housing and the hood and I have no hood pad. A custom built one would fit vertically between the radiator shroud and the turbo inlet elbow. I'm going to be ordering a water injection kit this week and run that for now.

I finished up installing the water/meth injection today. It makes a noticable difference, much more consistent. Before it was pulling timing down to 1 degrees advanced now it stays up at 10-12 degrees. I used an intercooler tank for a 05+ mustang and a oem second battery box, an AEM progressive controller, nozzle and pump. I'm running snow performance "boost juice" and the smallest nozzle which I believe is 250cc. It richens the mixture about .4-.6 afr.

Any pictures of your downpipe? Are you running a intercooler?
