I have considered this option as it is much more budget.
From Summit the ProCars were $650 ish to my door. I didn’t use the brackets, just used the hardware from my OE seats. Did have to weld up some brackets for the BMW seats but that was easy.

You've done amazing work on your rig! You and I are exact opposites in that if I have to work with wood, I usually make a metal template. Metal is easy for me but wood is an evil substance that is actively plotting my destruction. When I remodeled our kitchen, I actively fantasized about burning the house down, faking my own death and spending the rest of my days on a beach somewhere guzzling vodka and starting a doomsday cult dedicated to the principle that two cabinets meeting in a corner of a 60 year old house is the devil's work.

This is pretty much my day to day life. 🤣

Upgraded my communication radio.

Reason being, when we were in South Dakota, the group got a few miles ahead of me.

Chris has a slightly older version of this radio, and runs a bigger antenna.
I also have a bigger antenna, but 15w of transmitter power. Most were breaking up except Chris. He was crystal clear. So I upgraded.

It barely clears the shifter. I need a 90º adapter to turn the antenna so it's not packed against the floor.

Fits in the space nicely though.

Toyota says there's two different fuel level sender for 1976.

Anybody know the difference? I ordered both. Just seemed easier.

I checked the signal wire from the tank to the cluster. It ohm'd out. So that's good. Tested the cluster by grounding or the signal wire, so it's good.
That just leaves the float level sender screwing up.

And the difference is, how long the arm is.

Why the difference? No clue...

I used the box on the left.
The old sender is sitting next to that box.

The one that was in the tank was some knock off. I assume it came with the Cool Cruisers tank I got a few years ago. It looked new(ish)

I just changed out what matched. Maybe it was supposed to be the longer arm version.

Ohms read differently, so I get to retrain the Dakota Digital cluster, which in theory isn't that big of a deal, but it's also a pain in the rear being you're supposed to start with an empty tank. I wish you could change the values in the app.

1. I hate washing and waxing a 40 Series
2. Don't wax the front turn signal lenses. There's a ton of lettering molded into them, and it takes some time to get wax out of the lettering.

It sure looks pretty all spiffy'd up though.

I've picked up a lot of scratches in the last six months. None of them are horrendous, but they are plentiful.
