Help Identifying hub on my 75 FJ40

That looks an awful lot like the hubs that came on my '74 FJ55.

Steve @theSherpa is this what I worked on 20 years ago? If so, it’s a rare Asco six-spline hub.

Yep, Mark @65swb45 , that’s them, as installed on my ‘75 pig. Looks like it’s under an FJ60-type chrome sheet metal sleeve that’s peened over by rocks or something.

Getting them off is not intuitive, and I couldn’t tell you how we did it today.

The knob is sheet metal as is the hub cover with the triangle on it in my pictures.

That whole outer sleeve pulls off...

Doesn’t the knob have to come off first? If I remember correctly, that was our hang up.

don't think so, IIRC the know is spot-welded to something inside the top of the outer sleeve...
