The console lid was pretty sunfaded and deteriorated.

So I sanded it, then used a heat gun to pull out some color. Afterward I used some plastic polish on it.

Looks a bit better.

That being said, does anyone have a spare lid they want to sell?

old post... but if you paint this with SEM colorcoat it will look pretty much new. Ive used it on entire dashes on a few IS300s. Im talking about the entire dash and center console sections and they have lasted years and years. My Grey interior 60 is painted in it as well. I think most people are using cordovan brown for the brown interiors

I actually have a great condition grey console cover, that I was going to paint but it's too nice to change colors.
Figured I might be able to trade it for a good brown one at some point.

Any good vendors for this SEM Cordovan Brown paint?

Seems a lot are for sale on Amazon & eBay for $21 to $35 per can! Even O'Reilly has a 12 oz. can of it for $28!

the Colorcoat stuff is pretty expensive unfortunately, but if you prep it right it will last forever. I normally get mine from the local auto paint supply store but its pretty in line with the prices you listed

The world's longest cooling system refresh is finally done.

Flushed the block with distilled and it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Only got out about 1/4 ounce of debris. Just some rust granules.

Flushed the radiator, block, heater core and rear heater separately a few weeks ago.

This was really time consuming but satisfying knowing that is all done

Filled and burped with Toyota Red and distilled water.

New Aisin water pump, heater valve, hoses, belts, fan & fan clutch. Thermostat was done last year.
A rattle can resto on the radiator shroud and radiator with some 1" expanding foam.
New Toyota Alternator and plug as the locking tabs were broken. New one is blue vs the stock green.
The wire terminals looked brand new.

I love working on a California rust free vehicle.

Shoot, I see I forgot the terminal lug boot. I'll have to put that on tomorrow.

Found a new old stock grounding terminal and put that in too. The replacement ones had a white trace vs the original yellow.

Rear heater hoses replaced with Gates and some spring clips. I had OEM clamps down there but swapped them out since I needed to use them in the engine bay. No one will see underneath anyway.

Had a rattling exhaust so I replaced the broken rear isolator this morning and adjusted the hood stops. No more rattle or vibrating hood.

I didn't even realize the part number was on that isolator until zoomed in on my picture.
I bought two of the same part numbers for front and rear. My front is still good for the time being.
