You should see me push it across the yard. the dek flexs so the welder has a lil bounce. I'm not sure why didn't put a support in the front, maybe I didn't want to use up the scrap. Notice I did leave room in case I decided to put a bottle on the back of it. What you can't see is the headligh part of a brush guard. That is what the welder is sitting on, the little tabs keep it from sliding off. Only bad part about it isI need to put it on a tab to change spools, since the door is blocked.

Here is my weld bench, made from parts I cut off a trailer I saved from the scrap yard.

I could make the Tshirt. I made a screen printing press out of scrap metal too.

OH Yea. Eric's cart is made from a grocer cart cut out. I can't remember how he hooked the botle to it.

my welder cart

Hmm, since we are posting welder carts, mine really was a kart, my first go-kart that my dad and I build when I was about 12. Not quite heavy duty enough for my welder, tires almost go flat, and axle has a bow in it. Castors on the front now. Can still see the sprocket on the back wheel (although it is on backwards now)

Someday I'll build a new cart for it. It does conveniently drop and lock onto my 4'x4' trailer though... :)

Paul,
that screen press is actually really nice.
It almost looks professionally done.
Back in the day...I use to play in a "hardcore" band where we used to screen our own tee's to sell at shows and that would have been really handy to have back then.

No where NEAR as good as the cart though!!!
that is CLASSIC!:hillbilly:
I can actually visualize the welder bobbing around which makes it that much funnier!

Chicago,
Nice job! A welder is SO unbelievably useful and handy...I use mine all the time for small and large projects..and there is no substitute! Next in line would be a vertical mill if I could find a place for it in the garage ;)

Oh yeah Chicago...I really like your metal stock price! What a bummer when Reno Salvage closed down!

Don't worry too much about the gun cord. It's like a speedo cable inside and can be wrapped into about a one foot circle without damage.

Just be sure not to kink it.

Thanks spressomon,
Im having a blast with it, and im already thinking of other challenges I can take on with it.
I was digging through the local phone book today trying to find a good steel supply for some larger stock....
If you know of any, let me know.

Desert Steel is where some of the locals go (on Spice Islands Drive) now that Reno Salvage has closed. Then there's PDM...but they want to sell you 20' stick minimums or have HUGE cut fees. I also heard there is a business that operates out of an old house(?) on Coney Island Drive just West of McCarran that has some surplus metal too...but I have yet to check this out.

I saw desert steel in the phone book...
I was gonna check em out today, but I just ran out of time.
Im thinking about easing in with a front bumper assembly if I can get the steel relatively cheap. Im getting the itch to go ahead and start the SOA process...
Its so far UNDER MY SKIN that I cant stop obsessing about it.
The wife wants me to build bookshelves and crap like that as I sit here at my computer with a crazed look in my eye researching this subject to death.
Its just gotta happen and soon so I can get on with my life.

Thanks for the info

i freakin love the mower welder,

im making one.

after i clean up my keyboard.

Right on, Get some thicker metal and slow down, trying to make the welds more consistant. For the first time you are doing a VERY good job!!
BTW, leave some room on the cart for a gas tank when you decide to upgrade your machine :D
