Thanks ^^^^^^^ :)

Ok so i finally got my pics uploaded to flickr...

Just one of the many wasp families that thought Rusty would make an awesome winter home.

Also found them in the ujoints, rear frame rail, and beside the distributor. they're so fun to deal, like diffusing a bomb...

Unscrewing this out of the headlight bezel surprised me a little haha. But whatever works right :hillbilly:

REAR AXLE IS ALMOST READY! (im gonna get into the actuator and clean any connections, then CLEAN/PAINT!)

Axles are heavy as s***! Pulling it out of the truck by myself and wheeling it out the door wiped me out...

...So its a good thing my grandma was "DRIPPIN THAT CHOC-OLATE SA-AUCE" (for any of you epic meal time watchers hahaha).

So those are all the pictures i had of the half day tear down, ill get more as i go.

GA CRUISER INVITATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont have many pics of the woody since i didnt have my dedicated photographer. And because for the first time, i actually didnt wheel much. I wanted idea for my build up of Rusty, so i took to the passenger seat and did some buggy recon :D

AuburnFJsexy and the franken80. Badass truck, only 2 years ago, it actually was full body truck. Now... FZJ80 superleggera! I rode with him a lot and he answered any little questions i had about turning a land cruiser into a buggy :hhmm:

THANKS NICK

Adam using them 39" red label krawlers to mount the LC... shouldnt it be the other way around?

In all seriousness, thats the coolest, most built jeep ive ever seen or riden in and Adam is one hell of a nice guy.

Easy Does It :grinpimp:

TKinze's awesome SAS, bobbed, BADASS mini... I still need to have a ride in this thing.

Soooooo nice......... I want this so bad. Cleanest 40 crawler ive ever seen.

Theres pretty much no obstacle that CID 96's 40 can't idle up :steer:

The Hendog's nice little collection. V8 powered 40 and... an FJ45 SWB
Something like only 1 of 30 registered in the USA

Hendog let one of his friends drive his 40 for his first time ever offroading and ended up on sitting on his side... WHERE WAS HENDOG MY FIRST TIME OUT!!!!! HE'S AWESOME!!!!

rjs78 making this creek trail his bitch in his stock 60! :steer:

I had an excellent time out with the other members, and it was great to meet some new people. It sucked only winning that soap in the raffle though... LOLOL!!!!!

Toyota comedic gold right here

Woohoo! What a great time, I had a blast! Definitely did things in my truck that I had never before. And learned a ton. Thanks to all who guided me over the creek rocks and the other tough (to me) spots. Thanks to Robert and Ted for the rides. And thanks to everyone who pitched in to put the event together, was great fun!

Whoops, sorry Patrick, this is your thread, I got mixed up with my post!:o

Patrick, your narrative is priceless man... where was HENDOG when I started wheelin' also? He lives like 2 miles from me, I should take him some firewater and go see if he'll let me "borrow" the 45 SWB... ;-)

Yeah, Henry didnt even bat an eye while his truck was getting a little too sideways for physics to handle.

its late and im bored... so mud postin' time!

Ive begun selling off parts im not interested in, IM KEEPING EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF THE A PILLAR (engine bay, front dash interior bits = MINE!!) and some of the stuff behind it.
Look through the classified add (CLICK HERE) and if you want one of the MODIFICATIONS made to this truck or INTERIOR PIECES INSIDE THE TRUCK, PM me and ill see if we can work something out...

THINGS IM NOT SELLING OR HAVE ALREADY SOLD:
-Front bumper, rear bumper, snorkel are gone.
-if you want something important and it means the truck will not run (DONT ASK!!) i plan on building this truck up to be a crawler and i dont want to have to rebuild it just to get it running. no drivtrain, no axles, no to anything in the engine bay (DONT ASK!!)

Besides selling stuff, Ive been working on both trucks a whole bunch lately, its fun having a plethora of things to work on, but damn i don't know where to begin :bang:

Sooo anybody wonder how an 80 series rear e locker works? Let me explain...
1. turn locker knob on the dash
2. sorcery... (probably)
3. diff is locked

Electric actuator removal.

Ive decided these things are the DEVIL in cubic form :mad::mad:
Seriously, those actuator boxes can suck it. I cant understand the wiring or even how to test to see if they function. So because of my electronic ignorance, Ive ordered a couple pretty neat cable locker conversion kits :D
Im pumped, they should arrive in a week or two and then... :wrench::wrench::wrench:

Aww yeah, this is where the magic happens..

Next couple little projects..

Trans cooler...

Loooooooooong overdue.

Dual batteries! i got some instructions form the guys at Wrangler NW, they have awesome customer service.

It all seems pretty easy except I cut a slightly important cord
And i need to figure out which ignition is only running current when the key is in the "ON" position.

Other than these awesome projects:
-ill need to rebuild the FF axle since it is pissing out diff fluid from the driver side tire. That seems like more fun than just replacing an inner axle seal.
-Convert the new light forces to HID

Things should get busy in the next few weeks when parts start coming in!

LOL. That was awesome.

FYI, those actuators are worth a PRETTY penny if they're in good working order. I'm not sure you can buy them from Toyota anymore, but when you could, they were upwards of $700 new.

No i didn't get that tent, but i am interested in finding one like it. im like 2" too tall to sleep comfortably in the back of the 62, so having all that extra leg room would just be grand.

LOL. That was awesome.

Thanks for the heads up! i know there is a way to test the actuators with a 9v battery since it has been gone over and over in the 80 section, im just way too proud to ask them for even more dumbed down instructions lolol.

Hopefully, when i do learn the ways of the 80 series owners and test the actuators, they'll just cycle happy as a clam... but its more probable that they are going to feel angry and neglected and take it out on my potential profits. I dont really want to crack them open and clean them up, but ive got copies of the FSM pages necessary for the job, so i at least feel ready.

keep those pics coming man, love this thread

Thanks maat! It just so happens that the ACC invitational is this weekend! So hopefully, i can persuade someone to take some damn action pictures of the woody:cheers:

sounds great. im keeping an eye out for a 12ht for you. then your set

Ohhhh yes, i wouldnt mind one of those at all

ACC Invitational 2013 right up time!!!

Camped out no tent style with 2000UZJ and AnkurGT

I was a little disappointed that Ankur and I were the only 60 series but then this beauty showed up.

Some of the out of towner 80 guys. Glad they showed up, those trucks were BALLA!!

There were a ton of amazing trucks in the group and i didnt get pics of all of them since im a massive slacker. SORRY

Wheelin pictures!!!

I love this tacoma more than any other blue tacoma ive ever seen...
Used and thrashed!

SASd taco...

Those newer tacomas were beasting the very "body damage probable" trails with the likes of Lowe toyota parts manager extraordinaire, Sam Stewart..

..And also this PROPANE POWWWWAA 40

Super diverse group.

But alas, the very diverse group shot turned into a parking lot... damn winch failures

Backing down trails SUX!!

...continued

But afterwards... TRAIL 14!!!! My exhaust started falling off, yeah, thats why i bowed out of this trail like a little biatch :hhmm:

badest ass lexus in GA!

But sometimes even the most badass trucks break :whoops:

Not only was this tie rod bent 90 degrees, supposed to be absolutely straight, but it also snapped in half. Trail 14 claims another victim!

Psh broken tie rod? it aint no thang for Dan.

I claim this rock...

And now the "holy s***" 4 runner... Wasnt with our ACC group, but with our buggy neighbors. He saw all the Land Cruisers and decided to tag along.
It was a work of art. (I wish i could do this)

Fxxx YOU TRAIL 14!!! broken CV axle. I think he did it on purpose so he could get some free ACC guided work done... genius :hhmm:
With the help from all the good attendees, they had it swapped in like an hour.

Last night, 2000UZJ, steenh, and i went and played a little over on 43,42, and 11. Terrible pictures, but I DONT CARE!

I had such a AWESOME time, all thanks to these guys for putting on this event!

...end

looks like you had a blast, I didn't know runners had a bed option, is that OEM or converted by the owner?

ps, doesn't rusty have a wagongear tailgate lid? im interested if its there but im too lazy to go back and read.

definite convert by the owner. he was just such a fab master youd think its oem haha.

im keeping the wagongear stuff, but for future requests, pm me, i dont want this turning into a parting out thread. that goes for all.

Oh yeah, thoughts on the light forces? they look small sort of small to me, but every cruiser guy i ask keeps saying they look good.

Im probably going to keep them for a while and continue with the HID conversion since i know they'll still put out a huge amount of light, then maybe later, get some that are more aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

Looks like it was awesome. I like the look of the Light forces personally, but I was never a big fan of super big extra lights in front of the grill. Just my 2 cents. ;)
