Yeah, it was answered in a different thread that he started. There is no ECU on a '79 40, just the "emission control computer for USA" circuit board that controls the idle fuel cut solenoid. You can either use the schematic in the FSM to make your own sub-harness to plug the box into the generic Painless harness, or just connect the two wires on the fuel cut solenoid to 12V switched-with-ignition and a ground and ditch the "computer" board altogether.
I am desmogging my 86 fj60 2f without removing the HAC. Does any one have a diagram for the vaccuum hoses?
Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything in particular, but if you check out my pictures, I kept the HAC and everything runs great. If you need to know where specific hoses go, let me know and I'll get some more pictures.

Here you go Professor ... I'm no professor, so I have no idea what all these ports are called, so I have kept it simple. If you have ANY questions about my pictures or explanations ask and I will explain to the best of my ability. After you are finished, be sure to post pictures of your engine and everyone can check it out.

Professor, you are off to a good start. What's done so far looks correct.
What needs to be done with this?...not letting me post the pic... It is the hose that ran from the smog to underneath the vehicle under the brake booster.

anybody know how to fix the pics... they are in jpeg format is there some way that i can adjust them?
You have to adjust them either with the camera or with a stand-alone program like paint, or the software that came with your camera...
