Late to the party, just saw this. Subscribed :bounce:

Wow,

I've got a 60 and that was his initial build so that might be sooner.

John .. here's what I'm thinking on the intercooler
2.5" inlet & outlet Tube&Fin FMIC 27x7x2.25 Universal Intercooler

150" Sq , exactly what Cummins recommends, and only 7" tall, I'd like to go a big bigger but again as mentioned we don't want to obstruct the Rad
Will need a pair of 3" to 2.5" reducers but thats easy

Let me know what you think
Cheers
Steve

Steve,
Thanks for the link. I was looking at some other universal intercoolers.
The one you linked is a little large if I retain the radiator I was using. It's core is roughly 20x20 and this intercooler is 27" wide.
This one Universal Turbo V-Mount Intercooler 21.5x10x3.25 For FD3S RX7 is about the right size.
I need to get the engine in and see how far back I can go. I have about 7" before I get clearance issues with the firewall, but my driveshaft is the limiting factor. It's 22" with a CV and only about 3" of tube before the splines.

I was looking at this radiator if I replace the existing one. 22 In Tri Flow Aluminum Radiator Maxx Power The nice thing about it is the angle welded on the tanks makes it easier to fab a mount.
If you get the shroud and fan it comes to $346.

Feb 2018 issue of 4Wheel & Off-Road has a lot on R2.8 conversions.

Just got word the adapters are shipping tomorrow.:bounce::bounce2:

The adapters arrived.

The lightened flywheel is 11.4 lbs and the flywheel adapter is 10 lbs. So, including bolts that's about 22 lbs added to the weight of whatever flywheel is used for the clutch.

Checking the bellhousing fit.

Mounted to my Gen I AA NV4500 bellhousing.

Hopefully, I can put the engine in tomorrow to check the mounting and placement options.
