heh.. dirty diaper, uh, no - the only babies I deal with are the ones that come to my office for help.

What kind of help to you offer babies?

Turns out I was finally right... This leak was the front saddle of the
Oil pan. @JohnnyC was right, they snugged it a bit and it stopped leaking.

Picking our Austin daughter up at the airport, then I'll drop by and ride 44 into the sunset!

POST REBUILD: I pulled the air cleaner this morning and hooked my hand throttle back up. So, here are some pictures, sans air cleaner ... And sans oil filler plug, since it's tethered to the air cleaner. In the first picture, you can see a brace I fashioned out of 1/8" aluminum to secure the power steering pump to the front of the intake manifold. Provides Better PS pump stability and better pulley alignment.

Although the engine isn't yet broke in, since I had the air cleaner off, I went ahead and pulled the plugs and performed compression tests... I'll repeat this when I change the oil at 500 miles... You can see the wet and dry tests and the condition of the plugs, here... I don't know what went on with 4 wet... My hip was hurting to much to care... Especially since I will be repeating before long.

So.. I'm happy!! I'll be happier yet when I can take her out... I only drove her home... I haven't tried to stray far from home yet... Still much too hot...

#4 was an oops :meh:

Peer PRESSURE...

Come on take it out... Stray far from home... Take it to Nomans land ... Get lost ... And tell us all about it :)

Oh, I'd love to... I'd even face the heat, but I've got two more Dr appts... I'm hoping one or both will curtail the pain, by the time the weather finally cools down. I'm going when it cools down, regardless...

Danny, I'm sorry you've been enduring such pain, it's really terrible! I know all about back pain as I've had it most of my adult life. I've tried everything, except narcotics, to no avail, I've also had a fusion on L5, S1 with hardware, rods and screws, and a bone graft, a double decompression, steroid shots, etc. I feel for you my friend and hope the doctors will find a way to heal you and eliminate the pain so you can enjoy your retirement with your family.

Thanks Mike ! I'm gonna start going when the weather cools down, regardless... But, it would be much more enjoyable without the extra baggage.

Nice one Danny
Strange how the Power Steering Pump and the Alternator are on the opposite side as per what I have fitted.
Must have something to do with the water flowing down the plug hole the opposite way on your side of the world.
That first Freeway drive on a new motor is always a bit scary.
Time to do a compression test on mine now I have a few Ks on the clock . Good job you pointed this out.
Cheers Peter

Thanks Peter!

My power steering is a combination of mini-truck and fj60... Not sure which side The PS Pump should be on, but the alternator is, IIRC, correct on the passenger side.

I'm sure that first freeway drive is even scarier in OZ... Y'all drive on the wrong side of the road ;)

I have to deliver my daughter to the airport by 5am tomorrow, so I'm gonna come home a grab the boys and take 44 out for a couple of hours... Before it gets too hot.

Are you still in China?

Hi Danny
Your emails always make me smile.
Sitting in the QANTAS lounge Hong Kong airport
They drive on the right side of the road here.
Sadly the same can not be said for china . They drive on both the left and the right and down center of the road to if there is room.
A thrill a second that China driving. Just ask Nat.
Looking forward on taking the 40 for a run this weekend.
Cheers

@Bambi Girl That brings back memories.... That Chinese driving has a lot to be desired :)

It's a pecking order....

Truck, car, scooter, bike, person

If one crossed the path of the other it would loose... I had seen afew accidents ...

Truck beat car
Car beat scooter (2)
Bike beat person

My wife had her life flash past her while trying to cross a road... Almost thought I was going to the U.S. Embassy to claim her death it was that close... Not a honk or slows downs ... They are stupid bad drivers :)

Several cool cars however :meh:

HK airport is nice for sure laid over there for a while

@pngunme im glad you didn't cave to my peer pressure ... I was testing you :) LOL

Hi Johnny C
Wife having a close call.
Gee the same happened to Nat last night.
Thought I had lost her for that split second.
The car came out of no where and missed by a few thou.
Yes Chinese driving is something one must experience to under stand.
Brought a battery operated push bike for the factory .
Now that gets the adrenaline going when riding in traffic.
Nat made me promise my trial ride was a first and last.
Getting too old for that she tells me. Think she is right but it still got the hart pumping for this old bloke.
Sorry Danny for taking over your thread.
AND now it's back to the 44.
Cheers
