Well done Danny
Beautiful.
Do you get that being on top of the world feeling while driving her.
Nats just sat down beside me and wants to see the photos.
I ask for a cupper first but don't like my chances.
Cheers
Peter and Nat

Thanks Peter! Oh yes, traffic parts and the road is clear ahead! Cheers to you and Nat!

The 2F sounds great Danny! I couldn't resist but to use your little helper as the avatar for the video. Is that Chester or Gunner? Sorry I can't tell them apart any more as they look like twins. Just beautiful!!!

Danny it is time to get that 40 next to a trout stream in the mountains! Have fun

Thanks Ryan! I wish I could 'get it next to a trout stream', but it's gonna be a while before I'm able to fly fish... Gotta get my frame straightened or something. I have another sports med doc appt on Thursday and I have high hopes...

After yesterday being such a stellar day (no leaks, even before I went to bed last night)... This morning, without even firing her up, I found a small leak, dripping on to the front diff again. I think it's coming from the front saddle on the oil pan gasket this time.

I'm taking it back on Thursday, so they can fix it. Glad it's theirs to fix... I've had the pan off three times before, it's very tight in there, with headers!

That gasket is a tricky spot, best done upside down on a stand, with super high tack sealant to keep the gasket from moving. You can use some baby powder to pinpoint the leak.

Yeah, I had to fix it before... This time it's theirs, under warranty :bounce:

X2 pita spot loves to leak :)

Just be aware lots of shops are going to re tighten the bolts ... "Yep a few needed to get tightened down better" or something like that you might hear

Then they hope it doesn't come back

If they take it down and redu it i'd be very surprised :)

Any good trips coming up?

My daughter and I have been fishing some (she's 11) she loves it... Just wish she'd be able to get the bobber to stay on the line... I watched 2 float away our last trip out... The bright side is she casts really far and strong :)

Sounds great ... I'm thinking you don't want to trade lol

Nope! Not gonna trade @JohnnyC ! Push comes to shove, I'd let it leak so I can find my way back :hmm:

I think it sounds much better in person. They set the idle to 850, I set it down to 650. It may be running a bit hotter than it should... I'm going to burp it and make sure there is no air in the cooling system. It didn't run quite so hot when I first picked it up. But, they had to remove everything off the front, to get to the front crank seal, to,fix the first leak.

I don't care how they fix it, as long as they do. It will have to last at least 6 months... That's the mechanic's warranty (or 6k miles). Internal stuff is rebuilder and that is 12 months / 12k miles. Since it went to the rebuilder and came back as a long block, technically, the oil pan is the rebuilder's warranty. It'll be fine!

I'm glad you are taking your daughter fishing! My daughters loved to fish when they were young... Not any more though... 11 is a good age to learn fly fishing and that should be a lot of fun in your neck of the woods. Find a float (bobber) that you slip a loop of line through and then pass the float through the loop... Won't come off. I use Thingamabobbers, for fly fishing, as a strike indicator (float)... But fly fishing stuff is usually more expensive. Google it and you can see the type of bobber I'm talking about. Also, one of the best iPhone apps I've seen is "Grog Knots". Every category of knot is shown "animated". I carry it with me on my old iPhone, it doesn't need a cell signal, after its installed.

I have a couple of trips planned, but can't go until my left hip-ankle isn't so painful... And I'd like the heat to abate... I want it to be cold at night!
