Danny, I will go over to the shop in the morning and get the actual model numbers of the detectors I use. Almost 1 AM now and it's cold outside. I'm not as tough as I used to be![]()
The Garret is the AT Gold, and the White's 6000 DI Pro. I also use the Garret Pin Pointer to locate the smaller targets, works great. A lot of fun and really gets rid of the stress.

Hey Mark, so Danny got you out there also. Wouldn't take much either to get me talked into a hike if I was there. I enjoy the descriptions of his hikes, and the pics of that area.
If my guess is even close you left a trail, making it too easy. I'm going to guess that 44 is a bit to the left of what can be seen as the last of the road. There is an object there that is too squared off the be one of the bushes, or even a rock. Only problem I'm having is that it is dark colored, and 44 isn't dark, unless I'm seeing shadows.
Oh, by the way, it has been cold here for the last few days. Down into the mid to upper teens at night, and into the low to mid 30's during the day. Early this morning I heard ice pellets hitting the roof, and now it is snowing. We get maybe one snowfall a year, which is usually very wet and sloppy, lasting only a few hours. Last I looked outside the snowflakes were small and dry, the type that usually stick around for a while.

3.5 hours of hiking and we headed up into the high country View attachment 1378741
Pretty good Don. The dark spec was where Danny wanted to park; some brace/foolhardy soul was camped there, with a mummy bag on the ground.
We parked down the road to the right, almost straight off from where his hiking pole is aimed.
Man those are some wide open spaces. U got a pull pal or something in case u slide into. Ditch or something? Doesn't look like their are any trees to winch to.
Mark's a hiking fool... He wore me out!! Chester took three naps on the drive back.
Thanks Mark, we had a great time!!
I like hiking. I can watch it all day![]()
