Wow, impressive.

You need to post up a before and after pics when you finish her up,impressive job.

X2 on the before and after pictures. This 65 has come a long way in the last 9 months. Looks great, now it's snow camo.

Thanks guys! Yes I will for sure post some before and after pics.

Got the dash put back together. I went with a charcoal gray for the accent color. Used it in the dash pieces and on the seat frames/backs as well as the front TOYOTA emblem.
Put the cage and seats in for a min to measure my mounts for the new military surpluss Humvee 3 point retractable seat belts front and rear. Got those faves up and painted. The windshield guy is supposed to be here this morning. I could be driving it by Sunday!

Well. It's coming along. I got it together and took it for a spin. Great to drive it again. It's just plain fun. Well at least it was until the clutch started acting up. It never ends does it.

I started making a receiver hitch today.

I'm still deciding how far out I should put it. If I leave it almost flush it looks a bit better. But if it sticks out a few inches it can be a step as well.
Thoughts??

I did mine flush and it looked good to me, but was a pain to get a pin lined up behind to keep my bike rack or trailer ball secure. So I think it sticking out enough to see the pin hole or enough to install locking hitch pin would be good. And it could then be used for a step like you mentioned. Just my experience.

I made some side mirror arms tonight. I used 1/2" round stock welded a bolt to the bottom and bent it to 70 deg and drilled a hole to bolt the mirror head on. I like how they do not stick out too far. Just need to paint them.

That is a great idea! I was trying to figure out how to mount mine better and they are the same as yours. But I won't be doing that because my 40 is one state away now.

this makes me want to get a 40 all over again, ilove projects like yours

good job

cheers

Well deserved:clap:

I think that bottle opener was just an LC option for one year correct? :) Amazing Transformation. You should be quite proud of your progress. Inspiring.

I got a new set of wheels today. I really thought my old wheels where 15x8 so I ordered those. But turns out they where 15x7 oops. O well they looks fine. My old set where bad off they took A LOT of wheel weights to get close to balancing.
New ones are soo much nicer. They look very similar just gloss black and fewer / larger holes. Best part is I got all 5 delivered for 234 bucks!!

Finished building my receiver hitch today. I decided to let it stick out. Then I can use it as a step and it will be easier to put the bike rack on like corleykj said. It won't be pulling any big trailers but will work just fine to haul my mountain bike around.
