Finished building my receiver hitch today. I decided to let it stick out. Then I can use it as a step and it will be easier to put the bike rack on like corleykj said. It won't be pulling any big trailers but will work just fine to haul my mountain bike around.

That looks great!!! What did you cut the metal with? Plasma? The corners look so clean.

Your rig is looking sweet!great hitch:)

Thanks Matt

I got the hitch painted and installed. Put on the rear emblems. Bolted on some fold down steps on the rear sides. Painted the rear bumper. Changed the fluids in the diffs / trans & transfer case. Put on a D ring. Wired up my rear light. That's if for today.

It works!

I took it to the mountains today for the first time!
I'm very impressed with it. I love this thing!!
I'm so happy I decided to keep it. Can't wait to take it on a few trail runs!

Here are a few pics of my maiden voyage.

I got my new front bumper painted and installed.

So I go to the metal recyclers (scrap yard) about once a week to look for pieces of metal for my projects. While I was there today picking out a few pieces a truck pulls up and throws a bunch of stuff out and I saw him huck out a winch mount!!! I grabbed it up fast! The thing never had a winch mounted on it and it's the EXACT width for a 40! Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Getting good metal for only .27 a pound is the way to go!!

My fuel pump started leaking gas out if the weep hole when I shut off the engine. So I just put on a new pump I got from Kurt at cruiser outfitters. Looks just like my stock one and works good. I also picked up some parking brake shoes and hardware. I will install those soon.

I made some side steps / sliders today.

When I took off my old steps the bottom of the fender looked like crap. Soooo after much thought I cut the fender. (My felt sick to my stomach the whole time) I still have to round off the corner to make it look better. So far though I like the steps. I made them longer so it will be easier to get to the rook rack I will be putting on later.
P.S. always wear your gloves when using the wire wheel kids.
