wow.
that thread was better than any tv show/porn/rod build i've ever seen.

Even though I truly love the LV I'm not in the patina camp, so what is the plan for the body? In Mo. it would be swiss cheese in months. Please don't take offense to my inquiry, you and your crew are doing some great work on her.

Sadist.

Swiss cheese in months? Really? Lol. This thing has made it 52 years and it's body is not going to rot away in another 52 years....from the surface down at least. We know how bad the floors, seams, roofs, etc. rust. I think we'll be good on the body without paint.

I like shiny cars....but I like these old trucks as they are. So much character.

Got a couple of things done today....we replaced the noisy MSD fuel pump with a Napa pump. Dead silent. $80. It's made by Carter. It's for an F250 Ford I think. I believe this is what we have used in the past. Not sure why I bought the MSD. Maybe I got a bad one.

We set the timing on it. Truck has a LOT of power. Feels quicker than any of my other ones. Maybe it's because there is no windshield. Ha.

Also got to take her around our next door property that has turned into a nice little 4x4 proving ground. Fun to be able to run the old girl love some mounds and ditches...and of course grab a few cool shots.

Not really very challenging but still fun. Once I get all the junk out of the inside, I'm going to run it around on some more difficult stuff.

Digging this interior a lot. The LV has so much room in it compared to other LCs. It's weird to be so far from the dash. Comfortable.

I somehow ordered blue LED backlit gauges which were awful. Dakota Digital was kind enough to return it for the white one I wanted. Super cool company to deal with.....excellent customer service....highly recommend them.

I’m gonna be the wheel weight police......

Hahahahahaha......the wheel and tire place we use felt so bad about how many weights were needed. Ha. We use ceramic beads on a few of our builds....maybe I should try those out on these wheels. They do have a lot of weight on them.

Very very common. These OEM wheels are always that way. I usually take a sharpie to them.

My wheel guys usually spray them black for us.

I never noticed them until you pointed them out....now it's all I see! Ha. Thanks!

Someone needs to come up with patina’d wheel weights

That sure is an ubiquitous paperweight:beer:

Gauges came back from Dakota....the white color is really the only way to go with these things. Very very clean setup. We setup some of the stuff today. I opted to go with their GPS speedo setup in this truck....gives you a bunch of cool stuff. Outside air temp, altimeter, direction and of course GPS speed. Our temp sensor was a little too close to the exhaust I think. It's not uncommon for 89 degrees to show on a temp gauge in FL but not in January on a 64 degree cloudy day. Ha. Fixing that tomorrow.

Temp gauge is about 30 degrees above normal. Need to see what that is about too. And we need to calibrate the fuel level which is kind of a pain in the ass. Our list gets longer the more we try to shorten it.

Truck got insured today....tag gets taken care of tomorrow. I use a great insurance company for my classic stuff. THE best customer service of any place I've dealt with. Would be happy to PM anybody with the info......

Looking good! I have the same gauges....just in a box. Were you able to get original the horn parts and get that to work?

Original horn parts for the steering column? Not following you on that one. My horns work. We had one bad one but I had a spare so we made it all work.

Dropped the LV off at our local glass place(about a block from my shop) to do the front windshield. I am going to hold off on the rear windows for now I think(I was going to have new glass installed so it all looks clean(all new glass in doors and windshield). I want to drive the truck as is and shake it down. It needs new gaskets...I'm afraid they will leak and that's a bad place to have water leak.

After dropping it off, I drove by it 3 times and stopped in twice to check on it. I think they had enough of my nonsense. Ha. Fortunately I know them pretty well and they know I'm a attached to my builds.

They kept it overnight....and I really miss it. First time in about a year I've locked up my shop with no LV in it.
