Drivers side front door lower panel nearly flew off on the highway. Clips were all rusted out and I guess the nylon clips failed, and my 3M tape didn’t do anything. It was hanging on by one nylon clip and flapping wildly at 70mph. Will order new nylon clips and 3M the s*** out of it.

**** you Rochester and your brined roads.

Dumped two more cans of fluid film into and into the vehicle yesterday.

Starting to wonder why I’m getting only 10mpg and others are reporting 12-13

Removed all the rusty nastiness, cleaned up the old glue with an eraser wheel, applied 3m super tape along the panel, applied some super adhesive to the limp clips, and stuck it back up there. I’ll let it rest a while. Hopefully that did the trick.

Also, “slimed” my slow leak tire to get the urgency out of getting a new set of tires.
All those “Jesus miracle” products are big time BS. You have rust, you must replace it with no rust metal, either electrochemically or thermochemically (welding). It is boolean: yes or no.

Those rusty clips were just holding nylon clips. The 3M tape & glue should suffice. The metal clips are unobtainum.

Got around to tracking down which of my speakers sounded messed up. Popped open the passenger rear door and refoamed it to spec with the simply kit. Sounds great!

Finally got all the necessary components to install the rhino rack pioneer I got from @eyemd (thanks again)

funny thing with install, despite getting the 10mm offset spacers and legs, I still couldn’t achieve the necessary 50inch spread at the front mount points. I had to improvise. Slipped a few nylon spacers in from a TV install kit & got the extra half inch I needed.

After my short victory, my tailgate latch rusted off. I’ll source a new one. So glad the PO’s mechanic told him the vehicle only had surface rust. :flipoff2:

Rack looks great! 👍
It really completes the look of the truck.

With all the spark plug talk I did mine. Changed these NTKs for the Densos.

While in there I discovered a bunch of the coils were cracked. Must I replace them?

I’ve got this annoying wind noise while driving highway speeds. Sounds like it’s leaking through the upper of the drivers side door.

Clues:
-window sometimes jerks a little when going up or down
- seal at uppermost part of windshield is a little messed up. I filled it with silicone but idk.
-I have the roof rack but I don’t think that’s what it is. It’s distinctively in my left ear while driving

Photos attached. Guesses welcome. I’m driving 2.5 hours away Thursday. Would love to have a quick fix even if it’s not the long term solution.

how hard was it to get to the speakers? I've already repaired the subwoofer in the trunk with new foam, and figured I should tackle the others...truck looks amazing...

Subwoofer was a little more difficult. Doors were easy. Just watch a YouTube or two. Make sure you have one of those trim removal tools to pop a few things out without scratching trim.

Thank you!

Been following along. Debating if I want to pull the trigger on similar magnetic grey 2006 with rust that is a little more tame.

Aside from the poor MPG, best vehicle I ever owned. Rust doesn’t keep me up at night since I did the small weld at the rear cross member & since I fluid filmed it.

Next year I plan to take it in to get fully descaled and wool waxed.

What works for me is to quickly hit the down button. Just enough for the window move but not enough to move downward.

Thank you I’ll try that! I’ve ordered that shin Honda grease for the tracks. Hoping for a win there.

Smeared a healthy coating of this shin Etsu silicone grease on all the window runs, sunroof run, and every door seal including the trunk. Wiped it all down clear with paper towel afterwards. The windows fly now! Praying this solves my window whistle. Road trip tomorrow. Packing zip ties in case something drops out
