Howdy-

I am wondering what option I have for a multi-axis hitch/coupler?

I have a pintle hitch and lunette. But I am second guessing this set up for my trailer. All roads seem to point that a multi-axis is the way to go.

I know of...

Lock-n-roll and Treg hitches. Are there any other options in the US?

I haven't found a source for the Treg stateside, anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Who did you go through? AT?

Thanks it looks great. Anyone else?

Yes, I got it throw AT when I picked up my Chaser.... works like a charm... But don't try this at home:eek:

I have a Treg and I don't know anyone who sells it in the USA.... I bought it about 5 years ago from a 4x4 trailer place in CA.

If I had to get another coupler, I would order one from Oz and eat the freight and duty - I like it that much.

Rezarf, I really think a pintle/lunette combo is hard to beat. It is a well proven design that's tough and cost effective. It gives you tons of rotation and is reliable as anything else out there. Save some cash and stick to the pintle/lunette. Just my dos centavos.

So, you are saying it rotates? I don't believe it! :D

Wow, thanks for sharing. Were you on White Rim?

I'll put in another plug from experience for the Lock n Roll. No slop, no chatter, and no restricted movement/rotation. Call/PM Mario/Martyn...if they can't sell you one they'll tell you where you can get one.

Fully rotating pintle setup... its hard to see from the pic but this pintle rotates 360* and can also be locked into regular position.

Wish I knew where to score mine... a freind had a handful of them he scored from a Canadian military surplus... thing is bombproof. I'de buy a few more if I could.

I have wheeled with people using Pintle/Lunette combo and it do's work but i have also seen them get all twisted up to the point it had to be removed from the truck before you could undo the Pintle plus you always have the banging when you are starting or stopping...

I like how quiet and easy this setup is and the lack of banging as you stop and go...

I have little to no banging in my pintle setup. My M100 trailer lunette has the ability to rotate 360 degrees with no bind up. It's a time proven, reliable design.

Kurt, I have a link to the rotating kind, I will see if I can find it.

Drew,

You're on the right track - good luck with finding one. Lock N Roll should be easy to source and they have their own website.

Drew,

My lunette fits so nice in the pintle hitch that it is quieter than when I tow with the ball hitch. I have seen a lunette ring that pivots on its mounting stud. But, I have not been able to find where I had seen it.

Thanks guys.

I am going to try my original plan since I have all the pieces in hand.

I am not ruling one of these out at all. But I may as well see if this works first.

Lou, can you measure that distance from the receiver hitch pin hole, to the end of the unit?

Thanks, just making sure if I do go with the Lock-n-roll that I don't end up trimming my draw bar too short. Thanks bud.
