I was debating a build thread on this one because I was not really breaking any new ground on it at first but now this one is taking shape to be a full #1 meal with an Oreo milkshake ….

About the name. The new owner, Chris is the GM of the busiest Chic-Fil-A in the US right here in Madison Mississippi so there’s that……

He found this beauty in Mandeville Louisiana with only 115,000 miles. It’s a no rust truck with a B grade paint job. Interior, other than a cracked dash is a solid A.

I dove into it last week and installed a @FJ60Cam Mosley Motors Holley 2300 kit.

I packed all the pretty smog junk up and sent it to my buddy in LA to keep others alive. Once off the fender I was able to clean that all up.

This truck must have lived into he dry NW but somewhere cold. It had a plug-in cold water deal I’ve never seen with a reservoir

Took me as much time to remove the smog crap as it did to rebuild the Sniper in a new OEM heat shield

I pulled the valve cover and adjusted the valves and cleaned it up all pretty for the final install.

Also I found one of the last OEM FJ60 pumps and added that too

Yesterday I got home and started prepping the truck for a shiny new Dobinsons IMS suspension

The underside looks good. It has some dopey undercoating but it looks like it was living in dry areas so it did not cover up much.

It’s always fun to find an original un-used spare tire under these things.

I was able to get the spare wheel mostly polished out to match the others

The test drive was great for the Sniper but the monster shackles had this things driving super sketchy. Check them out next to my sexy fab sandals

I went by Powder Keg and grabbed the Dobinsons IMS setup I got via @Ozark cruiser

I added some fresh rubbers to the rear springs via City Racer

Of course, since it’s a 60 I had to burn out the bushings

I was rolling along pretty good until I got to the very last fixed pin and it was locked all to hell.

Here is the arsenal it took to get it loose

This is the 3rd Dobinsons kit I’ve installed on a 60. The past two were MRR kits with the adjustable shocks. This one is the IMS with the same body as the MRR but with house set generic valving.

I run the IMS on my 80 and other 40s and they really nailed the valving on those trucks. I’ll report back on these.

I also like these shouldered washers that come with Dobinsons shocks that center locate the upper shock.

These things are high high quality.

@Fourrunner makes the best wires. Added a new battery as well. The PO had bypassed the Fusable link. I had a spare new one so I had to rewire it into the system.

So here is the fun part….

Kenda Klever 33x9.50r-15s on the stock wheels.

I’ve been waiting on this size to be re-released for a long time and is the primary driver for my switch to 16” wheels and 255/85r16s.

These stack up nicely and the initial road test has then 100% silent
