Whew, that's good to hear, I was thinking about the SOA I'm doing and the rear is currently sitting around 30" on 28" tires, I haven't taken any measurements from the center of the frame but that should be closer to 20"
I might need to bring the hangers for the chevy springs up into the frame.

If I remember correctly...with chevy springs..... you may have to build out the frame to get the spring hangers to line up with the perches on the axle?

I know that their length makes them come away from the frame where the original stock location of the hanger used to be.

mmmmm, brake and fuel lines. I like the fact that the FJ60 fuel lines have bump outs for both transmission mount locations.

The Eagle has Landed

Fabbed up an exhaust real quick like. Came out nice and compact with a super sturdy mount ( bent up 3/16" plate ).

Dragged the frame out and threw it under the body.

Lots of bottle jacking and high lifting later...

Inner fenders are stiffer than I thought. I expected the weight of the body to self-clearance the inner fenders for the towers but that is not the case. Gotta cut the inner fenders and weld this tower back on.

"Self clearance" = Bend. LOL.

Other than that shock tower, that looks great. Congrats. You should be driving soon.

How did the body mounts line up?

Remind you a bit of when you did your frame swap?

Yea buddy!! Sorry I could not make it Johnny, had to work.

No problem man! Ended up being a slow day Saturday with only the lines being done.

She's gettin' there Johnny. Yesterday was nerve wracking for about 20 minutes, but all in all a lot of fun.

Seriously. Thanks again for coming over my friend:cheers:

I can't wait until I get to do the exact same thing. I'm about a month away, keep up the work and the pictures.

Thank you, will do.

How did the body mounts line up?

In hindsight, I should have never thought of doing it that way, I should have just cut the fenders and been done with it. Oh well, hindsight is, of course, 20/20.

The body is sitting on the mounts about 1" too far forward, so I've gotta figure that out. We got the body all the way down on the frame at about 8 last night so we had to call it then. Working in the dark is no fun!

Definitely, at least you didnt have to do all your work in a gravel driveway. Are you going to CMCC?

It's earlier than in past years and my new job in NC starts 3 weeks prior to CMCC. Right now it doesn't look like I'll be able to take any time off. We will see as it gets closer to the event.

Got the body lined up with the mounts for the most part. Had to run out to buy some new bolts as 4 in the kit I got were too short.

How the hell do you get to the rear most body mount bolts? I can't find the damn things and the only spot I haven't checked is too small for me to get my hand into.

Are you talking the ones behind the rear wheel well? You can get to those.

He is talking about the ones all the way to the back by the rear tailgate.

As steve said, all the way back by the tailgate. There has to be a way, maybe with smaller hands. I'd prefer to not have to cut another hole in my body, but if that's what it comes down to, I'm ok with it.

If I recall correctly there might be an access panel or something under the corner panels, you know that plastic thing that is right by the opening.
I found my hands were too big too.
I also am going to build a storage system which will cover it up.
