Interesting that you ended up having to move the rear axle. Why wasn't the pin located there on the springs in the first place?

It's not the pin in the spring pack that's the issue. The issue is when you do not have weight in the truck the springs really push the truck up (over 4") and as the spring pack arcs up the rear axel moves forward as the shackles swing forward. This bottomed out the rear DS on my truck so I chose to move the axel back 1" to center it better in the wheel well and gained slip back in my DS. Now as the springs compress and the shackles move rearward the axel will move in relation to this arc but I do not think there will be enough compression before the tires hit that the 1" will matter. Now if your asking why they did not move the pin in the spring pack back to compensate, ? I guess it could be a item to consider in the design. It's almost as easy to use relo blocks or drill the spring perches to compensate, same issue comes up in SOA's

Rebuilt PS Steering Box

Installed the rebuilt PS steering box and kinda eyed the paths for hoses to ram and to the future reservoir. Had fittings but some not right for path and or system layout. So now back to drawing board. I did order the 1-3/8" HA ram tie rod clamp from PSC today. Also got an e-mail from Jim C that my recurved dizzy is on it's way back home:clap: Thanks Jim:cheers:

So clean....

The only spot on my frame that looks close to that is the couple of square inches that are where the steering box bolts to the frame:lol:

Big Day Today

Today was a BIG day:clap: Decided to purchase my early model Saginaw PS pump and start the mod on the stock bracket. With all the HA stuff I don't want to use the stock pump only to have it fail plus I gain the better flow rates of the Saginaw unit. Got a rebuilt from CarQuest from a 77' Chevy truck. Toyota high pressure line hooks as should:clap: Stole the idea from RayN and made bracket for front may weld a tab on rear to use one of the stock sag bolt holes. Got my Tom Woods front DS:clap::bounce::D NICE WORK TOM:cheers: Also have a HD relay rod on it's way so I can complete the front steering.

Tom Woods DS

Complete front DS with extended splines, mini truck flanges and u-joints. Good for 40* of angle:clap: Sent Tom my companion flanges and he drilled to match new flanges, all I have to do is slide up into place and bolt:cheers: Thanks Tom:popcorn:

Seems to be a common sticker for drivershaft vendors.

Might not be able to see it but it says "You can't beat my shaft"

Nah haha. Im just noticing that if your business involves "shaft" in it....it normally turns into a penis joke

Sag PS Install

Well, things were going ok until I installed and test fit in 60:mad: It's close but pump needs to slide back a bit to get better pulley alignment. Right now it's a little to far forward. The rear stock bracket ear does not let the sag tank slide back enough. So right now I'm grinding down the rear ear to see if I can get enough room and still utilize the bracket I made:hmm: If still no go I will remove the rear mounting ear this will allow the room.:wrench: Also the galv long bolts are only to hang the pump for fit check:hillbilly:

Saginaw PS & HA Ram

Today another BIG day:):bounce2: Had some design issues to work thru with the Saginaw PS pump but prevailed and happy with the outcome:D Had to do lots of fine tuning and grinding but worth it. Also got my PSC HA Ram tie rod clamp:clap: Very nice piece! Well worth the $. Allows for fine adjustment in stroke and is VERY strong. The clamp combined with Dave's HD tie rod no way bending will be an issue. Also happy with HA ram angles and clearances, nice OEM look:cheers: Enjoy the pics, time for a :cheers::popcorn:

More PS Stuff!

:) I have great pulley alignment so when I find the wide belt pulley I want things should go easy:hmm: No all I have to do do is a re-order to Surplus Center for additional fittings:bang:

Final HA Ram Clamp Pics form PSC

Hopefully all the Pics help others in the future. That's my one complaint on some threads, lot's of great ideas but not enough pics to get the details across. I tried to go the opposite way here. Plus I have lot's more if anyone needs specific shots let me know:cheers:
