I am planning another batch of these so everyone will be able to quantify their pucker factor ;)

^^^That is so funny^^^ the wife was asking if such a thing existed on our last outing to Mt. Ord with @LandCruiserPhil.

one of the washed out sections of the trail had her side dipping a little low and a couple "Oh $#!+, Oh $#!+"
200's just feel tippy. would love to get one on a ramp and see just how far it would go.....:hmm:

I stopped here to take that Levogage photo. This is what 34* looks like to me.

Ha! I like it. But how do you measure lifted-butt pucker factor like the HITR photo? :)

Just mount another one front to back somewhere!

I guess I will have to be extra nice and get two gages per person so that you can mount the second one front/back to quantify the fun ascend/descend angles.

:grinpimp:

No physical gauges required. Just drop $3 on an app like this for your phone:

Clinometer + bubble level on the App Store

Best part is when you're rolling at 45 degrees you can snap a screenshot of it for bragging rights posterity

Its not the angle thats puts you over its the weight transfer. For me at 30° I start paying real attention. HITR makes that a breeze by the end of the trail.:D
Having righted several LC after being on there side your butt meter will engage way before you go over static.
Scotts picture above is a great example.

I may stay local to Moab if we get a group for day rides. I am picking up my son and Mrs on Wednesday July 25 afternoon from Moab airport
@Atwalz let me know what you decide. Ang would much prefer day runs and to stay in town. I am ok with either (day runs or HITRT). That said, if we can convince @kreiten to bring his crew (including the new addition) to Moab for day runs we would be in for that all the way.

Sounds good. My daughter will be with me in Moab runs. For her sake, my preference would be doing day runs. I am also planning on doing the hike with her to Delicate Arch on the 25th morning.

that's a super cool hike. I'd never hiked on one continuous exposed rock for that long in my life. Take water

What's the level of concern for flash floods and the terrain of the HITRT?

I'd say not much. There is a plateau that we heard from a Rover guy gets pretty interesting in the rain (he went out there to photograph the fun), and one spot he suggested not camping, but most of the trail is up high enough that I don't think it's much of a worry. But... I've never been there in the rain so I really don't know for sure how the area reacts.

List me as a maybe for the Prefunk run. Still working on getting the schedule dialed in.

The wife has a couple friends meeting her in moab, reserved some swanky air B-n-b.
If we're doing hole in the rock, I'm up to ride/navigate/wrench.
If that pans out and we do day trips, I'll be down to bring her friends along for some wheeling.
Either way, we'll be in town pre-lcdc !!!
Excited for this year's adventures.

I may be with you guys....will be with Bella and Brennan...we could tent it, but two nights may be too much when we have the rest of the trip ahead of us. (Weak sauce, i know) There may be a few of us that could do the day trips.

I'm not clear if it is confirmed for HITR? Like others, will need to reserve hotels if not going on death wish 3 camping adventure. :). Or I might just take more time in Durango or Ouray. @Atwalz @schob24 let me know.

So far I know of four mudder including myself wanting to day runs. These brave souls are @dc916cruiser @schob24 @BTUMAN

I wouldn't miss HITR so for me at least it's confirmed. One of those trails that I just can't get enough of. It will be two nights on the trail. The night before is really up to everyone to figure out how they want to play it. There are towns in striking distance that you could find a hotel. We'd meet up at the trailhead around 11am the first day. Hanksville has a campground and is relatively close. If you don't mind driving a bit that morning, there are plenty of options to hotel it the night before the trip.

Ang is really pushing hard for day runs and hotel stays in Moab, she is not down with two nights of camping. That said, I am keeping up the pressure and working it for HITR.

Two nights camping is a HARD sell for the commander in charge. I am ~95% sure we will be doing day runs. I am going to give it another week of HITR selling before I give in and book a hotel. @Atwalz where are you staying in town?
