if you plan on doing top of the world, there is a 50/50 chance you will have emissions codes afterwards.
if I was going to do it again, I would roll with a half filled tank and spare gas can. 3 trucks had fuel boiling out of the gas caps last year.
3 didn't...50/50....just a heads up.
wasn't a particularly fun trail, but worth it for the photo opportunity at the top. (especially if you are going with photo-master Ken)

Thanks for the photo props:) yep I had gas leaking all out the side on Top of The World but threw no codes...

Yep/ two years ago it was nuts with the gas boiling in the tank- I actually called Amory while we were on trail to ask if normal. It was a bit concerning with gas coming out and metal scraping rocks.

I wonder if higher octane may have lowered the boiling point.

I'm in for this and my girlfriend will be coming too. We are driving out to LCDC from NJ and it would be a waste to not hit Moab too while we are out West. Details on accommodations to be determined, but leaning towards hotel/day trips and then heading out to Telluride on Wednesday.

Top of the World is cool, last time I rolled up it was a lighting storm/rain so might be cool to check that out again. Hells Revenge is kinda fun, tons of cool little trails...

After hanging with a zillion drivers at Cruise Mosb all week...the consensus was that you avoid steep trails with a full tank. If you have extra fuel...bring it if you are concerned...and then leave your fuel a bit past half tank. This will most likely save you from our dreaded (and consistent) evap codes post Moab (and Top of the World trail specifically).

I say make a plans over beers and BBQ the night before - who wants to be organized on vacation, that stuff's for the birds. Pictured below are some trails. Pick'em

Is there still a group interested in hole in the rock?

Asking for a friend...;)

The impression I’m getting is there is no longer an overnight group...rather day runs out of Moab. Is this correct, @Willy beamin ?

We are still on for HITR for those interested. I'm working up the details now with Willy and the Crusher, and we will get them posted up in a day or so once finalized, but right in line with what we discussed earlier.

@TexAZ tell your friend all about it :)

For you HITR attendees, here are the specifics. For those of you heading to Moab instead, I hate that we are breaking up the party for the Pre-Funk but we'll all be there for the Telluride festivities. Ken, I was kind of counting on your photo skills!

We will meet at the Cal Black Memorial Airport a few miles from the trailhead at 11:00am on Sunday the 22nd. We can gas up there. We will spend the 22nd and Monday the 23rd camping on the trail and head to Telluride on Tuesday for the start of the Telluride party on Wed. It's a 4 hour drive to Telluride from the trailhead.

Depending on what direction you are coming from, there are a few small towns within striking distance. North, Hanksville is close to the trailhead (1-1/2 hours) and has a decent place to camp or maybe get a room. Coming from the South, Mexican Hat is also about 1-1/2 hrs. There are other options including just camping near or at the trailhead though you won't have a shower there unless you bring one... If we want to coordinate the night before, we can definitely do that. In any event, you'll be staying relatively close to the trailhead.

I've shared this before, but to wet your appetite once again, here's what you'll be seeing and doing!

Here's another video with an old Bronco and an Excursion plowing through HITR.

My girlfriend and I are in for HITR. We will really need to haul ass in two and a half days coming from NJ. Working on a more detailed itinerary now. How many people are doing HITR?
