I know that cabin. It is right where Davis Creek turns to dirt and heads into the mountain.

Good choice.

Yeah, and that's Helen's place. She's very involved in fighting to keep Tellico open. Good lady and I am glad that we are supporting her business!

Be aware...there is a possibility that the trails could be closed completely this year for winter. For sure 2, 9, 7, and maybe 11 will be closed. I am not sure on all the trails that close, but there are some that will be. We just missed them last year, as they closed just after we were there.

2 and 9 will be the only ones we will really miss...most on that ride seem to stick to the moderate trails (except for the FL guys and Alan).

Do you know to what extent the rock hammer modified schoolbus?

Hate that I'm going to miss this one... love me some snow wheelin'

Oh no! Tell me it isn't so? What did they do? Schoolbus was just getting better and better...

I will tentatively plan on attending depending on what trails are slated to be open - really jealous of Alan and Jim's Schoolbus run last year - looked like a lot of fun and I've always wanted to go when there were fewer leaves.

Too many trails closed - guess I'll just go fishing instead. :D

If this does happen we need to get another gameplan on what ya'll want to do.

On the table are

Cullowhee and the cabin. It would be a packed house in the winter but we could make it work.

OBX. Check out the OBX thread as we are entertaining this.

Anything else? Needs to have a house available.

What about a ski trip in Boone or Snowshoe?

Ok well it's time to start really thinking about this. I have a feeling the forestry service is going to drag it's feet on making a decision. We have until Dec 15th to cancel the reservations for MLK. I'm thinking they won't. So I'm pressing on.

Who is in on this run? It is friday sat and sunday. I can if there is interest rent one or more of the houses for other days to give you folk who are far away more time in Tellico. Just let me know.

This is the cream of the crop on our runs. No expense spared. UC will have available to it's members a house or two right beside each other. Any is welcome to come to the event. Winter in Tellico is always fun.

Capt. any plans for your crew to come up?

The Forest Service is still dragging their feet. They said in a meeting this week that they were going to shoot for Dec 1 to make a decision, but they thought it would probably be later than that.

Currently topless without a heater, should I not even be considering this trip. Should I just start planning for GSMTR?

Announces closure of 3 trail bridges in upper Tellico

Well there is a partial answer. Trail 8 was not a big kick in the balls.

This has nothing to do with the closures that they are considering for the winter, etc. The FS has not completed the required maintenence up there for YEARS and when they really started looking at things, they realized that the bridges were crap and dangerous. So for public safety, they had to close the bridges.

So...it's not a closure as a result of the Supervisor's Orders that were proposed for the entire area.

Excuse me . . .

just passing info I have. Thought folks might want to know. I rescind my previous post. Have a nice trip. I'm outa here
