The guy had some health issues not too long ago. Give it a little more time. I'm sure Shane is not the kind of person to rip off MUD members.

Been trying to get him for over a month for some 100 series covers...PM, EMAIL, FaceBook even a customer that got his wont respond..hahaha. They could be of the finest hand sewn, mouth chewed, and dyed from virgin cattle by 9 year old Uzbekistan princesses with goats milk on their hands to keep from marring the finish and cotton 2 feet thick on the tables and floor in case it falls........I think I will go elsewhere. Without customer service he does not deserve to have the business of IH8MUD and its LOYAL members.....loyalty and respect goes two ways in my book.

I installed my leathers this past weekend. Yes the wait was longer than expected and yes communication at first was less than desirable, but I am happy that I waited it out as the product is top notch.

Has anyone heard from Shane lately? I want to pull the trigger on a set of leathers for my 80 but he is apparently not getting back to anyone. Don't want to give him $1,500 and then go silent.

They look great, but I am reluctant to pull the trigger.

There are other options...
By referral from another member, in an earlier post in this thread - I called LeatherSeats.com today. Like others, I was frustrated about not hearing back - FOR MONTHS after sending inquiries. I feel badly for those who placed the order and sweated it out, or are still waiting...

I don't give two s***s if someone has friends and happy customers who will vouch for them if I can't get some sort of commitment or rough timeframe on when a finished product will be ready, be it by email, phone or written communication. It's just plain s***ty to take someone's hard earned dough and then not reply, other than with lame excuses. We place a lot of trust when putting out an order to someone we've never met, in another state, with little or no recourse (other than through Amex - as mentioned earlier), and for good reason - we all share a common interest (infatuation) and we let our guard down with other members because of it. Nothing wrong with that.

I digress...
LeatherSeats answered the phone! And spent 20+ minutes talking me through the options and they knew details about Toyota (specific to 80-Series trucks) like: they're 100% leather from the factory up to the year 2000. The quote for their Premium pkg, first two rows, with leather seating surfaces (for your back and butt), and vinyl on vertical surfaces around the edges, for example - was $899. They shipped out samples and committed to a two-week turnaround for shipping my order after I decide. So $900 and I get two rows of covers, not just the fronts. That's great cause I want to change to a brown that matches the dash.

Several good reviews online, by forum enthusiasts of all kinds for leatherseats.com

Giving them a call tomorrow.

Good lead, hadmatter, as I am ready to buy two rows of leather for my '95. No luck getting ahold of Shane, so I'll give leatherseats.com a try.

So, no news from Shane? I was about to order a kit from him. Glad that I came across this thread!

I placed my order with Leatherseats.com and am waiting for shipment. Will post up once they're installed.

SOR also offers replacement leather

Shameless plug, I've got grey leather fronts for sale in the classifieds...

An update, and shameless plug for LeatherSeats.com...

Product delivered Wednesday - 23 days after my order, I think.
Correspondence was prompt, solid and basically everything you would expect whether you're spending $5 or $5,000
I always reached someone by phone, the manager handled my order personally because he knows the LC's and he sent updates regarding my order through the process.

I chose 'Adobe' after comparing the handful of samples to several different places on existing leather surfaces. In my opinion, it's a perfect match. I highly doubt anyone will even notice that they've been redone, other than the fact that they smell new. I spent ~$850 for front row, console lid, headrests and seat heaters for both front seats. I think their price for FR row, covers only, is under $600 and they have a lot of colors and options.

The one difference in this cover that's not exact to OEM is that it does not have that little "channel" on the cushion which differentiates it from the LX interior. The cover looks more like the LX design, but is no doubt fabricated specifically for the 80 (mine is a 97).

Fit and finish: Took the truck to Colorado Car Interiors in Englewood. They were close to my work and could instal immediately. Took the guys around 5 1/2 hrs (they also replaced all seat foam on driver's side). Both of them commented on the quality of the leather, and fit and finish. Installed they look great, very uniform and "like stock" (again, aside from not having that channel I mentioned above). Leather is supple, appears to be very sturdy and the seams are identical to OEM as far as I can tell.

I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again, and may eventually do the second row some day.

Oh, and they're also comfy! Forgot to mention that...
I enjoy driving again it again. Feels like a new(ish) car again, and since it's my D.D., it's got to comfortable.

As others have said so many times before, "I wish I done it sooner"

Thanks for posting the review and photos hadmatter. I was looking into this company recently and there is another thread where some are buying from lseat.com. The problem with lseat is I cant find a review of their product anywhere. Im strongly considering ordering through leatherseats.com and FYI to anyone else they have a 10% sale now through 12/1
