Those look great. Can you tell me what you decided on for paint and your process?

Thank you. I wouldn't say that I would be the one to turn to for advice on painting things. I am extremely impatient when it comes to painting and I like prep even less. However, here was my process:

I used a medium grit sanding block to get rid of some of the surface rust(UPS delivered while I was out of town so no doubt the sprinklers had at least a few passes at the raw steel. No fault of Metal Tech)
Sprayed it down with an air hose to get rid of dust
Used a clean microfiber cloth with lacquer thinner to remove anything else
I went with a paint/primer flat black from Rustoleum

I ended up doing 3 coats or so. Seems to be holding up pretty good, but I plan to leave a can in the car for inevitable touch-ups. Hope this helps.

Can anyone confirm whether/how much the step plate is angled up and whether MT and OPOR differ in this regard? The earlier post by @Somebodyelse5 confirming angle shows the bottom rail but not sure if the step sits flat, as @geanes says they are for OPOR. Then @bozncsurf says MT confirmed only one angle @15 degrees (though, again this seems to refer to the rail not necessarily the angle of the step). I'm wanting a flat step for the kids. It's tough to tell from photos posted. Great deal so hoping these will work.

The tube extends in line from the rail. So, the measurement I showed is valid for the tubing section and the plate.

It's not really a step plate, it's part of the slider that protects from bumping into rocks, where the bottom rail protects in high center situations.

That said, the difference in height for what you are asking for and what these offer would be less than an inch.
Look closely at these pics and you can see. OPOR

Just put my order in for some raw steel OPOR sliders! I've had my eye on sliders for a long time now and this was just the sort of promo I needed to pull the trigger. Thank you @MT4x4!

Killer deal, but stock date is now 7/04. They wouldn't arrive before I leave for HIH. Maybe I'll order a set for my wife's 4Runner.

The guys are welding up another 30 sets right now! Depending on allocations we may be able to get then to you sooner if they get done soon.

For painting, I highly recommend VHT epoxy paint in satin black. It's the only spray paint I've found that will produce a glass like finish that can't be scratched off with your fingernail like other paints. It also does not need primer (recommends against using primer) so one less step.

No matter what paint you use, head to your local skateboard shop and buy a sheet of grip tape for less than $5. Be sure to only put the tape on the top and do not extend it down the sides as it will grab your calf hair and not feel good.

I decided to use VHT satin epoxy as well. First, I used 3M adhesive remover it also takes tar and other junk away. Then I took a green 3M pad (the can says to use a red pad) and went over the sliders just to knock anything else off. Then I used acetone and a new rag three different times until the rag was clean. The can says to do two light coats and a "medium wet coat". I think the trick for me was to make sure that I work quickly to get everything continuously wet from area to area on that last coat. Even then, it might look a bit splotchy but the next day it turned out pretty uniform. Also, follow the directions on the can and wait 10 minutes between coats. I think a few times I waited a little bit longer. Resist the urge to paint again after an hour. The last thing is lighting, if I could do it again I would have painted in broad daylight out on the driveway with a drop cloth, it helps to avoid bugs but most importantly, it helps to see all of that black. I started towards the evening time then moved into the garage and there were so many bugs flying around under the lights. All in all the paint looks really good, it feels like it's very durable but only time will tell. Hope this helps.

I decided to have my new MT/OPOR raw sliders powder coated. Dropped them off at Arizona PowderCoat for a nice Oil Rubbed Bronze with texture. Sounds like my sliders are having a spa day for crumbs sake.

How many pesos approx will all that treatment run you?
