I know we have a basic design laid out. It would probably be in two different versions. One where there is just a back half a B and C pillar. with the A pillar being optional. Not everyone wants to sacrifice foot room getting in and out of your cruiser.

It will be in a kit form just like all our other cages.

Not sure on pricing but probably in the similar range as our current cages for the 40. Probably a little bit more because there is more tubing (length) involved.

We will have to get in touch with our local club member and try to schedule his 55 in the shop to get a prototype cranked out.

Lucy_FJ55 give me a pm to talk about the sliders.

Anytime MoFo, anytime.

Well I need to get it running first but, anytime after that.

Its alright, we'll just use the redneck method. Tie a chain around your front bumper attached to another rig and floor it up on the trailer :flipoff2:

Just out of curiosity how much work do you think it will be for me to retrofit a 40 sticnger and nose guard onto my 55? I'm having my folks get it for xmas for me. I dont think it will be a very big deal and neither does my friend who has one on his 40. But maybe I can get an opinion straight from the source here.

As long as the frame rail width is the same as the FJ40 which it probably is because they use the same axles it shouldn't be a problem. Give me some measurements of the width of your pig frame and i'll let you know.

Another thing to think about is if the nose guard will be tall enough or go around the headlight assembly completly. You don't want to be blocking your headlights. I'll give you some measurements tomorrow of the height of the nose gaurd, since its dark at my house I can't measure the one on my 40.

We can also do different size stingers from small, medium to large.

Update?

Any more word on whether there was enough interest to make this a reality? I'm still looking at a Feb./Mar. time frame to either procure one or have one fabbed. Just curious to see if a proto-type was made.

THanks,
Norm

I have the stinger, and after some preliminary fitting and all I think it should fit the frame pretty well and should be good height wise. I am planning on a little modding to it to make it fit around the headlights correctly. I will do a post specific to the whole thing when I do it.

Hay guys this is Mark, owner of MT. The wagon cages are coming real soon. We should have photos of the 60 cage kit first. The 80 is next then the five five. The nice thing is the cages of course will be custom to the truck the be basic design will be the same for all three wagons. The cost will be a bit more than the 40’ cages since the tube will be all DOM and the mounting system for the wagons is trick. The same goals with all MT cages apply, #1 perform, #2 maximize interior space for occupants, #3 do more than just be a cage, #4 look good!

Cool Mark! Guess you got my message on your answering machine! :)

YES! I moved the wagon cage project up as well. Ok ok I also want one in my 80. The funny thing is the original drawings I did two years ago was done for the 55. (Then Gyute sold his truck, off whent the test baby. Now he has a new one)

I just dont have the time to work on my own rig much anymore. For now I drive the truck and remember just how cool a little stock 40 is. The resto will be a ways down the road. I have some great parts for it!

Yes the 55 cage will be out before April.

Mark

Definitely interested in the 55 cage, love the work you did on the 40 cage. Maybe a 60 cage in the future too. And so close too. It would be worth the drive down.

The 60 cage is in going in right now. We will have photos of it in about a week. We are going to laser cut and CNC bend some trick floor mounts so thay will put the ship date out a 10-12 days after that.
