I am very interested in a MT cage. I have one minor question, for the older pigs with a dash mounted ignition, will the cage block the ignition?

Oooh, good question. My trail rig is a '70 and I was wondering the same thing.

The 55 cage will be based off the 60 cage design. Just some added tweaks to make it fit the FJ55 body lines. Along with our signature A pillar design around the dash.

Will this be designed to mount to the frame, unlike the 60 series bolt in & weld "kit"? Just curious to know if y'all think that's *sufficently designed that way.......

People have rolled over in our 40 cages w/o frame ties and everything has held. We are planning on using .125 dom through out the entire cage and the base plates are 6"x6". Which provides enough spread for a direct hit.

LT,

Thanks for making a cage for the 55! I like many others am very interested. If you have a minute could you please answer a couple of quick questions?

- Will it work on the early models with the key on the left side of the dash?

- Will the cage need to be finish welded in the truck?

- Is there anyway you could incorporate an S/S coupler or clamp so that the cage could be made removable? Easier to install, weld, and paint/finish.

- Who is first in line? ;-)

Ryan.

First in line?Oh oh me :D

Im ready now.I will be bending tube or buying something in the next couple weeks.Just depends on price and lead time if I get one of these :D .

Don't know your first question because we haven't built one for the 55 yet.

The finish welds will be inside the truck

The cage is designed on a sleeve method. The cage is made from 1.75" tube and the base tube is 2". There will be at least a 4" drop so you can get to everything inside the truck to weld. Once it is all welded you jack up the cage to its final position and weld the base tube to the cage.
