Has anyone installed Bushwacker extend-a-fender flares on a 1sr gen 4Runner? I have a 1985 4Runner and am thinking about installing them but there's this little problem with the built in rock guard in front of the rear wheel well. Do you install the flares over the rock guard or do you cut the rock guard?

Pics anyone of this installation? :grinpimp: Please? :D

I haven't done the Bushwackers but when I got my 88 pickup it had some fiberglass flares installed over the guards and they looked like crap:

The rock guard is just a thin piece of plastic that really only ends up trapping crap behind it. I'm getting ready to pull them on my 4Runner and fill the one hole then maybe do some textured paint instead. I don't know how nice your truck is but I would say ditch them and install the bushwhackers.
