If you take Bloody Basin or Table Mesa to Cave Creek to Bloody Basin you don't have to cross the river. I think you only have to cross if you take Horseshoe Dam Rd.
Didn't even know you needed one for that area. I've done that trail several times without. Oops.If you do might want to be sure and have a State Trust Land Permit. State Trust Land Permits - YES! You May Need One!!
