Still not 100% sold on it, but I’m going to try that Gamiviti dash thingamcbob to mount my GPS and my InReach.

Going to start with the ARB socket mount and a blue sea dual USB plug run to aux battery (later)

Should be able to keep wiring nice and tidy.

Putting the Gamiviti dash mount thing on the back burner, as i am not happy with the fitment of it, and currently looking at other options.

In other news, my suspension bits are starting to arrive.

Thanks to Ian and Britney at Wheel Every Weekend (my go to for years, for all my custom suspension needs) i picked up my 6112s and 5160s yesterday.

I am going for 1.75" lift and keeping the stock rake, so they assembled them on the 3rd clip, and i got both the Bilstein rear coils, and the Old Man Emu 2721 coils. Will see which ones i like better.

Still need to order a bunch of parts and pieces before i really dig into it, but making progress

you will love it

bilsteins were the best upgrade i made on my 277k 08

Did you do anything else when you installed it?

With 277k how were your swaybar links and lower control arm bushings? Mine are TOAST

Going to replace all of it at once

Gave up on the Gamiviti option and ordered the other option, made by @goooooo

Arrived today and looks to be a much cleaner, better fitting option.

Once my new speaker cover arrives, I’ll post install pics:

Simple little 1/2  job trying out these Seat Jacker things.

My only complaint with literally every single model cruiser i've ever owned is the seats/seating position. These seem to address at least 1/2 the problem.

10 min install and quick test is already noticeably more comfortable position.

Need to run bunch of errands tomorrow AM and will report back, but for now. 👍

Well…

Ran out to local desert last night for some photo stuff and gotta admit, I’m pleasantly surprised how much more comfortable the seat position is with these things.

Basically eliminates the odd leg fatigue/pain by adding support under them.

I remember raising the front of my 100 series seats and being pleased also, but that was 15ish years ago and no idea if same product.

Best $100 I’ve spent in awhile!

Note: I paid full price, no discount or affiliation, just a very happy customer

Was starting to feel my age today at work trying to school some youngsters and then got this…

Finally got around to finishing up the install for the dash accessory mount from Leather and Dirt aka @goooooo

The install, fit and finish is night and day better than the Gamiviti option IMHO.

Color match, appropriate color hardware is even provided.

I would rate this 1.5 🍌 due to careful placement of holes needing to be drilled.

As you can see in pics, I did not use all the hardware, the way some of them line up would be drilling right into the clips, so for now, i opted to leave them out, after install, quick shake test, it is plenty strong and sturdy as is.

Havent done the wiring for the ARB plug yet, and will do that later when i add the aux bat and additional fuse block.

But for now, i am quite happy with the results:

I ordered 2 by mistake due to glitch on website, and he's been unresponsive to emails and DMs about a refund, so thats kinda lame....

Hey man, I’m glad you enjoy the product!

About the extra order: It was indeed cancelled on my end, you should have got an email about that last week. I guess it might take a couple of days for the payment system to finalize it. Please let me know if you do not see the refund in the next 7 days.

Thank you sir.

Nope, never got email about cancellation.

Got an email about 10 minutes ago about the refund for the duplicate order, THANK YOU!

Wasn’t clear from parts diagrams and everything I’ve read if the rear control arms included bushings or not, so I ordered just one lower and an upper to check.

Pleasantly surprised to see the bushings are included and installed and it’s all one piece.

Also surprised these are only $150ish brand new.

Parts collection continues.

At 213k miles, I’ll be replacing ALL control arms, track bar, and other wear items with new OEM parts

Freshly fresh. Love it.

Part of me thinks I'm going to address parts as they come up. Or should I wholesale rebase line at maybe 180k?

Yeah, you’re in a different situation than me.

I HAVE to take it all apart to install the Bilstein stuff so for me, it’s a “while I’m in there” thing. Will take an additional hour or to swap out all the arms and such “while I’m in there”

At the stage it will be apart to install the Bilstein stuff it would be silly for me NOT to replace everything really.

That and with 213k it all worn to hell anyway. I was very evident on the fire roads in Big Bear.

For the front, I’m going to replace the CV axles as well, so in theory, the front end won’t have to come apart again, and risk damaging ball joints, etc.. I want everything attached to, and behind the knuckle brand new.

I don’t have unlimited access to a shop lift anymore, so when I do get access to it to do my Blisteins, I’m going all in!

Later stage, when I do the brakes, I’ll also do all new wheel bearings, but those are easy and the knuckles don’t have to come apart. That’s stuff I can easily do in my driveway.

I have most of the Bilstein stuff here but one of the rears is one back order with no release date, so I’m in zero rush.

Picked these up today from a fellow Mud Member / Friend.

Although not aesthetically my fav and not period correct, I’m willing to overlook that for the 5lb-ish weight savings per corner and I’m very much an OEM wheel type of guy vs anything aftermarket.

Now I’ll go back and forth probably 50000x between keeping them matte black or powder coating them a medium gray metallic.

Regardless, I’m stoked, and the red TRD center caps got to go…

#progress

Nice!

Mine only the TRD in red, no red ring.

It took 13 months after ordering the Heritage Edition center caps for the red to go away😂

I think the heritage edition caps with the “TOYOTA” on them miss the mark and look very odd and out of place.

Basic old Toyota font that doesn’t match anything on the truck at all. It’s just weird

I don’t care for the red or the TRD that much either. Trying to find a middle ground

This is just weird:

Bought one of the other center cap variants to see how I like it.

Its a little less obnoxious but I’m still not digging the red.

Trying to find other variants that have the same size center that I could swap out with the sombrero vs the TRD..

Will continue the hunt
