I always take a pause when trying to answer the above question. Most folks are not familiar with the Lexus lineup, and if I just say I drive a Land Cruiser, I might need to explain how the LX is really a re-badged Cruiser down the road, which is just annoying...
I'm always a fan of the Land Cruiser. However, the AHC actually suits my use case better. Plus, the early LX tail lamps are pure sex.
Anyway, here is my answer with my (WIP) homemade Lexus 'Heritage' emblem - "I drive a Lux Cruiser
"
7/2/24 Update:
Created another prototype to bring out the contrast. Getting closer to a proper badge that can go on my rig
2/21 update
I almost gave up on this project. Printing the curved badge for the C-pillar was a nightmare—failure rate was just way too high. But after months of trial and error, I finally figured out a way to make it work. I made several prototypes and left them outside for a couple of months to torture-test them. As you can see in the photo, some materials are starting to turn yellow, even though they’re all supposed to be UV-resistant.
Next up, I’m experimenting with different color combinations—not just to make them look interesting, but also to hopefully reduce how much they’re affected by UV exposure.
4/16 update
Unfortunately, the previous design wasn't strong enough, so I ended up modifying it a lot. Here's the latest badge—I'll be putting it on my truck next week! Wdyt?
4/19 update
After all the trials and errors, I finally have an emblem I'm happy with!
