They cant do that. They have to differentiate themselves for the 4Runner owners.Imagine if you had a GX460 and in the very rare event that someone asked you what you drove, you simply told them “I drive a Lexus GX 460.” If they then asked “what’s that” you simply responded “an SUV.”
Pretty sure this theoretical conversation is the very genesis of the "It's basically a Land Cruiser" stickers.

Exactly, AHC is a major plus for some of usIts not just a badge engineered land cruiser. We get AHC(at least here in the US).
Its like the Land Cruisers richer, better looking, more successful twin.

I say I drive a "Mom" car or a Off road minivan.. or Mall Crawler...

Usually if people ask, I say old Toyota. If they insist I tell them its a Highlander. When they see it, it looks exactly like a Highlander to them, and they are happy with the affirmation.
I just say I drive an old Lexus because it’s cheaper than an old Toyota.

I always take a pause when trying to answer the above question. Most folks are not familiar with the Lexus lineup, and if I just say I drive a Land Cruiser, I might need to explain how the LX is really a re-badged Cruiser down the road, which is just annoying...
I'm always a fan of the Land Cruiser. However, the AHC actually suits my use case better. Plus, the early LX tail lamps are pure sex.
Anyway, here is my answer with my (WIP) homemade Lexus 'Heritage' emblem - "I drive a Lux Cruiser"

I’m pretty sure the 2 row LX was only sold so it could be used as an Uber Black. At least that’s how it felt when I test drove one.
