How's the parts hunt going? I have a 3/2005 LX and would like to get started on this after I get some other things buttoned up. Afraid my procrastination may kill the feasibility of it due to lack of parts..
I have the parts. I did the Land Cruiser parts like @LX470Beast did. My truck is finishing up at the shop. We will see how the install goes.

Update:
The LX was in the shop for mechanical, I did the install.

New to the group. Recently acquired a 2002 LX470. Is this the right thread for Nav removal to move A/C control to a Panel Sub-Assy 55902-60110 and add a double din where the Nav was previously. Looking for the right thread with parts list for as close to plug and play as possible. Thanks in advance!!!

How can anyone actually justify the cost of this project?

Ridge: I see you are in Virginia as am I, just got the funds to start trying to buy the parts, where did you have the install done and we're you happy?

I did it myself. The wire harness from @jerryb help out a ton. It was a fun project overall... the "worst" part was persuading the wire bundles in the dash to comply :) You also should do replace the factory amp and speakers at the same time. I used the factory speaker wire. I did go with the Land Cruiser parts and it wall works well.
The stereo/nav/ac was the thing bugged me the most about the LX, after doing this conversion, I love it.
Thanks again @jerryb
I posted some pictures on the general thread: post 2003 nav delete how to.

Anyone have the complete list of all the parts currently available, that are required for the swap? Makes my calculations easier

.. the complete list is on the first page of the thread... what’s currently available
Is the million dollars question. I doubt anyone is tracking available parts If you read the thread and I last posted 2 years ago. I probably got the last LX panel available after that the last few LX received LC panels

Ok, so I'm looking into converting my 05 LX from nav to 3 knob climate control from a 02 LC. I know it hasn't been done and the conversions done in this thread are awesome but I have a hard time justifying the cost of all the parts. Anyway, I'm still researching and just want to see if it's a possibility. I'm mapping out all the wires on the 3 knob AC amplifier and can't seem to find 2 wires that the 3 knob ac amplifier calls for. I looked at wiring diagrams and all the nav delete threads on here. Maybe one of you could help. Here is whatt I'm looking for

Symbol________wiring color____Condition _____________________________________________________STD Voltage

IGN<>GND_____B<>W-B______Engine Idling___________________________________________________Pulse

ACT<>GND_____L-B<>W-B_____Start Engine, A/C switch. ON Magnetic clutch. Engaged 10-14 V
__________________________________Start Engine, A/C switch. ON Magnetic clutch. Not engaged Below 1.0 V

Any help would be great
Thanks

Nevermind, figured it out

With the 02 dash vs 05 dash, the entire dash would have to be removed and swapped over for it to fit.

If I can get the electrical part of it to work then I'll make the damn thing fit. I can't stand the existing climate control! What were they thinking?

Ok, so the good news is that the LC 3 knob climate control does work in an 05 LX. Bad news, it doesn't fit.....I knew that going in and have some ideas on making this work. I'm just relieved that the electrical stuff works. First time I powered it on nothing worked and then I realized that the wire taps I used for testing this thing are complete s***. They don't actually pierce the wire so I had open everyone up and push the wire down with a screwdriver to make good contact. The only thing that still does not work is the rear climate button so I'll have to investigate that. But yeah, here it is. A working 3 knob in a 2005 LX

Glad you got it working, and looking forward to how you get it installed. Hope you are documenting it for the electrically challenged.
