About to do an LSA swap which will be a significant HP upgrade. have a stock 93 with 2in liftNot sure yet what type tranny will be, but thinking on what else needs to be done to handle that HP.
I don’t know what To worry about on each of the below. Any guidance thought criticism that is constructive would be helpful
Transfer case ?
Shaft ?
Differentials?
suspension?
Breaks?
What else

While that much horsepower is nice the real question is how much torque and at what rpm range.

Well it makes 350ft/lbs @ 1000rpms which is more than the 1FZ makes for max torque (275ft/lbs @ 3200rpms)

You will need a 4l80e transmission. Mark's 4wd has all the adapters. 6l80e will likely work too but I haven't looked into it too much personally. Your going to need a good sized radiator as well as a fuel pump such as a twin turbo supra pump. No suspension mods should be needed, axles and gearing should be fine unless you are too hard on it offroad. Mark's 4wd sells a front driveshaft kit for the front driveshaft so it will clear the transmission. Look at the v8 swap sticky, lots of info on LS swaps. Only difference is the lsa has a supercharger.

Will the LSA have enough hood clearance without a body lift? I would imagine the rear axle shaft upgrades and hub studs. What size tires?

Vs tend to be shorter than Is

LSA blower sits lower than the LS “truck” intake.

Go 6L80 you want the low 1st gear and nice top end cruising too.

Don’t use cheesy motor mounts.Use GM or Toyota MM’s, fab if needed.

Nitro rear shafts, stud and pin up grade is worth looking at too. You say it’s an FJ80 so upgrading rear axle to FF right?

If you use a Marks kit move the entire engine and trans back closer to the firewall by customizing the trans crossmember or moving it.

Use a mechanical fan.

Measure flange to flange tcase to diff after swap and have drivelines made. Make use you don’t need dc drive lines.

Delete the LSPV, install new master cylinder, remanned calipers and upgraded rotors all around. Finish it off with new lines and a proportioning valve in the rear.

;)

Cheers
