Started work on the rear axle. The rear of the axle is pretty thin and a skid plate is needed. The top of the skid plate will also help support the tower for the mounting points of the upper links.

I'm just catching up on this tread! Looking great Stan.

I know i'm saying that what Brett really wants in that thing is a 4bt:grinpimp:

:D

I am with you now, little slow on the uptake. I am up to my ears in projects right now so I was not even thinking along those lines. I've not talked with Brett about what he is planning for the 62.

I know Jerry was looking at an old bread truck to get a 4BT.

Stan you are crazy busy but would love for you to build me something some day!

As Brett's financial planner I think he needs a D-max with an allison 6 speed in there.

Al, do you know what T-case is being used with that setup?

That makes things pretty straight forward. Are there any adapters aside from one for a doubler box in the drive line?

Finally ordered the transfer case doubler adapter from Marlin, It'll be here next Fri!! Now I can assemble the drive train and get it sitting in the frame rails. Once it sits in the frame rails I can start on the suspension and cab placement.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!!
And he delivers via Fed Ex.
Received the Marlin Crawler Dual Case Kit today. Let the games begin :)

If you go and check out posts #35 and 38 you can see the beginnings of the front frame section. Once I get the cases together and the drive train all assembled and in the frame rails I can locate the T case cross member then start on the suspension links in the rear.

Then the rear frame section can be figured out. I have it drawn but wont bend it up until I get the rear links done and cycle the rear axle. I prefer to find out it will hit the frame before I build it :)

Looking good Stan. I wish I had more time to look over that thing when I was there picking up the engine from you which is finally back in Raleigh now but still stuck on that trailer

I meant it sitting in / on the frame rails.

Ahhh, you and me both. I had expected to work on it today, but we had a problem here. Game warden just left, I'll fill ya'll in later, I am just kinda spacing out right now trying to calm down.

I had hoped to work on my 60 today also, but had to do shopping instead.

When you get a chance let us know what happened. Take your time, we will still be here when you are ready. Hopefully none of your animals are involved.

Unfortunately one of my animals was involved. My black Lab Gus and Bull dog/border collie mix Simon took off after a squirell this moring. Simon came back after an hour but no Gus. I drove around for a bit hoping I could spot him from the surrounding roads but no luck.

I went looking on foot and followed the creek along our property down toward the lake. We have several beaver dams on the property and I found Gus next to the trail, back leg broken by a trap, shot in the head with a 22.

Someone had illegally placed traps on my property and Gus found one. We called the game warden and he came out, confirmed that Gus had indeed found a trap and that someone shot him in the head when they found him in the trap. The game warden went off to talk to some boys that are known to trap in the area. There is only one man in the county that buys pelts and he will be talking with him tomorrow to get a lead on who is trapping our creek.

Needless to say I want to find the coward and beat him to within an inch of his life. Gus' leg was broke, it could have been fixed or in the worse case removed, but he would have lived. This son of a bitch shot him. The Game Warden and I found wherre several traps had been but whomever it was pulled the traps, most likely in fear of being caught.

This is a small community and by this afternoon everyone around already knew what happened. Someone will find out who did it. THe game warden told me not to do anything that gets me in trouble with the Sheriff, but in my shoes he told me he'd want to shoot the bastard too.

Not a good day at the Stanley home.

Stan - so sorry to hear about Gus - that a-hole will be found and held accountable for his actions...in this lifetime and the next.

Damn Stan, I am sorry to hear about this. Truly unbelievable.

Wow, i have to say if i were you i'd end up in jail if i found out who did it to gus. I am so sorry man, i know how much of family pets can be, my lab is my best friend. I hope something good comes out of this, if its possible. Stay happy stan, im sorry for your loss.
