I have my outside gear locked down pretty tight but there is some pretty valuable stuff under the hood. Has anyone come up with an effective way of locking the hood on a 40?

What Ed really meant was " welcome to MUD, there happens to be a topic concerning this in the search section and you are welcome to use it"...... Now I am gonna run and hide....

padlock, eye bolts, there ya go ;)

Sears tool chest keyed locks. Drill a hole in the side apron forward of the hood latch (or on the front bib). insert the lock core and attach one of the long hook shaped lock pieces (you might have to shape it a bit). Use an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel to make a slitlong enough for the lock mechanism to move through the required range of motion. Mark and cut a similar slit in the hood (obviously just enough so it can catch the hood securely). I only have one on the passenger side, but I'll probably put another on the drivers side.
Of course, if somebody really wants in, they can just unscrew the hood:meh:

Thanks all, including Ed. I have pretty thick skin so the slap upside my head only hurt for a while. t
