macmann - does the phone mirror feature work? where the screen basically shows what is on your phone screen? it says it has that feature on the website.

so you got HVAC to work?!....that is awesome.

Connectors on top are external wifi antenna and gps antenna. I have not synced with my Bluetooth phone yet. I'll do that in a bit.

And yes hvac works but you won't know what temp it is set at. There is a small external box they give you. This box pulls signals off the factory radio connector and converts them for the android unit to use. This is also the unit that flips flops audio so the android output can be routed to the stock system. That does not work currently.

... I also need to find out how to add more memory. After I added the Waze app, I have no more space.

Here's a site that might provide some helpful information regarding filesystem partition on Android if you are unfamiliar.

Android Partitions Explained: boot, system, recovery, data, cache & misc

It's possible that even if you can add an external sd card, it won't solve your space issue installing apps as the problem could be the default partitioning scheme has a small /data partition which is where apps are installed to by default. Fortunately most Android apps can be moved to the sd card(either default internal storage or external card) after installation via Applications->Manage applications->{Application Name}...there should be a move to sd card button there.

Just catching up on this thread. Great news if it all works out!

Are you tethering the unit to your phone for wifi? Is it working well?

2. Factory rear camera image does not show at all. Also, there is no blank image when putting car in reverse.

i recall a few pages back you said that there was a wire that was labeled to run to a brake light. could that possibly be a wire to tie into the *reverse* light that got lost in translation? i.e. when the car is put in R, the reverse lights get power, triggering the camera to activate/screen display. just thinking out loud trying to help out.

This is quite possible. I can apply 12volts to this and see what happens.

Has anyone seen this connector being used anywhere in the truck? I am assuming the audio out from the android system is through this connector and it needs to be plugged in somewhere. It's not very long. Reaches approx the heated switch area.

Ok guys. I cannot get any support from China at all. Anyone speak the language and can call them? I have removed the unit and returned back to stock. I simply do not have time to mess with this project currently. I however would be happy to let another forum member tinker with this unit as long as they

1. Have knowledge on how the current Levinson system works.
2. Can read wiring diagrams and have access to them
3. Are able to understand basic wiring principles
4. Are able to spend the necessary time to deal with this project so other members can benefit.

I would use this system in a heartbeat if I could get a few bugs sorted out.

1. Able to show climate control temp. It's currently fixed at 25C. Like I said before, the temp does actually adjust but not on the screen.
2. Able to pipe sound from the android portion of the system through car speakers.

I can live with the rest of the issues.

Bummer! I appreciate your efforts. Unfortunately I don't have the skills you seek.

I meet all of your requirements, except #4. I already have way too many irons in way too small of a fire. Good luck on finding someone who can finish this experimenting up.

Thanks for taking the time and the risk to try this out.

Bummer. Was really hoping this would work

I am just starting working towards an Arduino based solution and have most of the wiring diagrams spread over my desk. I haven't started tearing into my dash as my wife needed the larger vehicle for her family in town. I plan on working on it in a few weeks.

I would be very interested in taking over the project if you are interested in passing it along. I will PM you.

I have a friend that speaks fluent mandarin.

I'll see if she will call of you have a specific convo or lost of questions...?

We work at the same hospital now
