In addition to the features listed, the unit has the following

1. Microphone
2. Small Speaker (assume it's for bluetooth)
3. Two Video Outputs
4. Video Input
5. Audio Input and Output
6. Two USB Jacks
7. IR Receiver for old DVD Player Remote
8. Connector for Original DVD Changer in Center console (I think)
9. A Brake Light Wire. Assume it's some type of safety feature they want hooked up
10. Wifi Antenna (which you can change to an external mount one)
11. GPS Antenna

Hope this is going to work for you ...

And then me at some point in the future.

This is GREAT news for all if it works! One reason i went with an 01 was the stereo.

Wait and see mode here, for a couple of reasons:
1- the fit and finish int he pictures posted is not good, and
2- the price is incredibly cheap, which concerns me regarding the longevity of a device. The factory nav, while dated, still works fine on my 13 year old truck, I wonder how many of these will fail within 13 months...

If the fit is better than I've seen then I might consider it, depending on the complexity of the install, but I used to work in a car audio shop while in college and half of our work was removing crappy products that never worked as anticipated because they were so cheaply made.

i'm with you on this one regarding quality, and my other concern is upgrading the OS on the device as these things change constantly. that said, the price is why this is interesting. affordable enough that it isn't going to alter the course of your life if it doesn't work out. nothing prevents you from mothballing the factory nav if this fails though and just re-install if you're not happy with it. there's no cutting of any of the OEM trim to make this fit from what i can see.

any chance we can get a video starting with the car off, and seeing power-up, home screen, functionality? i know i'm asking a lot, but seeing how it works from "start-up" would really help

Sure, but the more you pop off these trim pieces the more you chance breaking one or more, even with the right tools. I assume this is PnP, but we'll have wait and see just what that entails, as these all in one units can be pretty deep.

I think it's a cool prospect, I just don't want something that doesn't fit well, nor do I want to deal with buggy software so to have a larger screen in the dash. Fingers crossed, though...

In the pictures I've seen posted so far, I don't see enough to say that it is a "good fit", or a "bad fit". What are you seeing that I am not?

I suspect that you're going to be locked into their "kitkat" with the custom tie-ins into the factory lexus/toyota equipment.

Look at the trim above the top of the screen, driver's side:

I saw that pic on the NAVIAV site, and it looks like most of the left side is a little "proud", but is it a "bad fit" that you're stuck with, or is it a bad install that could be adjusted flush?

Know what? since this seems to be the first one, I bet that pretty soon, you will start seeing them pop up on alibaba/aliexpress. It's only a matter of time. despite the fact that i have a very itchy index finger that likes to click "pay now", i am planning on waiting a bit longer. once it hits alibaba, price will come down to probably around $350 my guess.

I have not done a proper install on the unit till I get all the bugs worked out. So far, I was able to install apps (waze) and test it. Works well. The BIG screen is such a PLUS over the previous screen. The only things I need worked out are the following.

1. Audio when using Android is NOT routed through the Mark Levinson system. I believe this is a bug. I can hear the relay click but no dice.
2. Factory rear camera image does not show at all. Also, there is no blank image when putting car in reverse.
3. Climate control temp display does not change when using up and down arrows. It does actually work but there is no way to tell what temp you set it at.
4. The fuel consumption display does not work at all.

I still have my factory nav plugged into the bottom of pass seat. I will unplug it tonight to check if it is interfering with anything.
I don't mind the fit and finish. It's not bad for what you are paying for. Like I said, the huge screen is the biggest plus. I also need to find out how to add more memory. After I added the Waze app, I have no more space.
