Well... Everything has been working well without issue so it must be time to shake things up.

The fenders and running boards have been taking a beating from day one and after a particularly brutal day at Gordy's last weekend I decided to do something about it

Passenger fender and step after I straightened them

Drivers side

Six hours later they look like this

I cut and rolled the fenders to save the inner fender and prep for tube fenders and sliders

More to follow as I start the reassembly process.

Dude that looks sweet. I'm making some progress on the Mule. I keep watching vids of your rig to keep me going. I can't wait to be maxing out at 55 pissing off all the yahoos in San Diego soon.

Are you fabbing your tube fenders or using a kit?

I have been keeping an eye on your thread and progress looks good. I need to create some new videos, those just don't due it justice anymore. Everything is working really well together. I'm driving it almost everyday and it doesn't bother me to put it out on the highway and irritate at 55

As for fenders, I am making my own. 1. Because I am cheap and 2. because I couldn't find anything I liked that had an inner fender and 3. I need something that I can tie my bullbar into so that I don't have to build a stinger.

I need to make 2 sets of fenders for mine and Brock's rigs. are you going to use the 1.5" tubing?

I have a 1.25 die so that's what they are going to be. I saw a heep with 1.25 tubing and I thought it looked good so I'm going for it.

Oops, fell down a rabbit hole and the sawzall came back out

stay tuned as I try to dig my way out of this predicament.

I remember that discussion now. maybe I should rethink the 1.5" I bought and see about building mine with you. if you'd let me join in...:D

As you can see, I took a bad detour but you are welcome to change up and come on over...

when you are ready. no hurry. I will be busy this weekend anyway.

I didn't get to work on it last night... Had a company function.
I did get the rear sill started tonight.

I need to weld in some captive nuts and box the ends, after that I will cut the rest of the panel out and start skinning it with 1/8" plate.

I bought 12 gauge instead of 1/8". that .020 is going to make all the difference between bending it smoothly or not :D
1/8" = .125 and 12 gauge = .104 or so

I got the drivers side done today.

Predrilled all the holes for the spot welds hung it back up

Then took a couple of straps and this piece of 3x3 tubing to form the bend

It came out pretty damn nice

hopefully I can get the passenger side done tomorrow or Monday

Well hmmm? How will I know if it's your rig....

Looks great!

It will still be belching black smoke... At least for the near future

Passenger side is almost done

Tacked in

Brace to keep the bottom from bowing out

I might need to rethink my color choice. It matches really real in small quantities but not so much in a whole panel

You do some nice work!

That is a little bit more extensive than we talked about son.........I think............But damn it do look good and yes you do some nice work..........

I'm sure glad to see you get back to that body working thing cause I am just about in the need of some body work on a couple of my projects......ie: 1960 Ford Pickup & 1926 T Coupe......Not quite the same as 0.20 steel work........I will even deliver them to you garage......LOL.....

It was way more extensive than I planned and hardly 26 T quality but it will do for something that is bouncing around in the rocks.

It is the first thing I have ever done to it that increased its value, everything else has caused depreciation
