Damm you planning on being upside down? With that type of cage you will think your invincable, O' but come to think about it you have always thought that...........Great looking job son.......

Mike

I started my jungle gym last week

I had bought the A pillars and a B pillar from a guy here on mud last year.

This is what I have now

I don't like the B pillar forward brace but other wise...............

Any suggestions?

I like it--and I assume it still fits under your hard top?--or did you have to deflate the tires to get out of the garage:doh:

It all fits under the hardtop. Well at least it was engineered to fit under the hardtop:D

Its done

Looks good!

I need an opinion. You can be brutal if you want.

The front bar is to mount lights, sort of like this.

It is all just tacked together and can be dismantled or changed fairly easy.

Im going to post it in the 40 section to so that everybody gets a shot at me.

Looks cool. What function does it serve beside mounting lights to?

Even better than looking good.

I like it. looks good to me.

I think it makes sense. I've seen radiator damage in a rollover. That looks like it should help avoid that problem.

I like it......of course I think you should chrome it too.......but I like it!!!!

How much lift are you running? I smacked my oil pan notch with the pumpkin and cracked the weld on my 55, I'm only running 3" of lift though. Looking at going this route, hate to fix it and do it again :frown:

Tucker

That is a very pretty pan.

I am SOA on worn 40 springs netting about 6" of lift and my axle is moved forward 4". 3" of lift and 4" forward would probably work if it is doable on a pig, otherwise I would think 5-6" of lift would be needed to keep it clear out in the rocks

Look at how cute an FJ40 is when it is all stock, right down to the tire size.

This belongs to a guy in my neighborhood, it is a 1976 with PTO winch and dealer installed AC. He has this one and a '69, both of them were purchased new by his dad and have never been modded. He isn't selling them, I have tried.

Well, here it is 6 months later without any updates and I only fell to page 3 in the listings:o

Really haven't any made any improvements or done any major damage to report but that is about to change.

I recently picked up another project truck out of Farmington that I decided to part out to gain a few goodies off of it. It has longfields and Marlin highsteer but most importantly it has or should I say had a Marlin Toybox of the 4.7 variety

This coupled to my Orion and 4.10 gears will net an amazing 274:1 crawl ratio, with 5.29 gears it would be an absurdly stupid 353:1 ratio. I guess I will need to rethink my gearing when I go to 37's.
It goes into the garage on Sunday to start the next transformation which should include moving the rear axle back another 4"-6", shortening the front frame up a little, build a cradle for my new seats, add the highsteer and install said Toybox. I would like to have it out ready to wheel by spring.;)

Here we go.....

Slight delay... Zach lost the tranny in his pickup today while we were out in the Puerco. Well technically it didn't die until we were on 528 but the Puerco did it in. I will have to get it running before the 40 can go under the knife.

damn those annoying priorities in life....chomping on the popcorn....
